House To Vote On Obamacare Abortion Bill

The House will vote next week on a bill that would ban Obamacare subsidies from being used for insurance plans that cover abortion services.

The Washington Examiner reports that a Republican majority has passed the bill before, called the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act,” but a “fresh vote” for the newly elected members was pushed by opponents of abortion. Congress will pass the bill during the same week as the annual March for Life protest, as it did two years before.

Although it is likely that Senate Democrats will block the passage of the bill, a 60-vote majority in the Senate in 2018 would allow Republicans to override Democratic filibusters.
