A 58-year-old Florida woman volunteering for Donald Trump claimed she was assaulted by a 52-year-old man whom she pepper-sprayed.
Donna Tatlici was handing out Trump literature at the Jupiter Community Center when Tom Garrecht screamed at her on his way into the polls, “I don’t need anyone to tell me who to vote for,” she told the Palm Beach Post.
Tatlici responded, “I’m not here to do that. I’m just here to give you the information.”
After Garrecht voted, Tatlici said he exited the polling site, charged at her and “came right into my face,” and was yelling expletives at her.
Tatlici warned Garrecht that she had pepper spray on her key chain and that he should back away.
As the shouting increased, the two got closer and she pepper-sprayed him. She said at that point Garrecht “put his hand on her shoulder” as the two continued to have words before Garrecht slammed her to the ground and “started punching her.”
“I couldn’t believe it,” she said. “I couldn’t believe someone would actually hit me. I was really upset.”
For his part, Garrecht told the newspaper he only hit her after she pepper-sprayed him, as if that makes it all right. I don’t know who raised him, but my dad always told me not to hit a women, period.
Garrecht voted for Hillary Clinton.
Jupiter police are investigating the incident.
There must be something about the air in Jupiter. If you remember, that’s where Trump’s former campaign manager, the diminutive Corey Lewandowski, was charged but not prosecuted for assaulting former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields.
