Obama To Christians: We, Not Christ, Are The Way, The Truth, and The Life

&#8220In the left’s eagerness to embrace Christ’s telling of the Good Samaritan as the sole tenet of Christian faith, it has ignored … Christ’s telling of the rich man and Lazarus. &#8221

We should be prepared for a lot of this in 2008. The Democrats, in cooperation with the MSMTM, have decided to start pushing the idea that Christians are outside the mainstream of American values. We Christians are, to borrow a phrase, dividers not uniters.

B. Hussein Obama is the latest to put forward that idea.

“Part of it’s because of the so-called leaders of the Christian Right, who’ve been all too eager to exploit what divides us,” the Illinois senator said.

“At every opportunity, they’ve told evangelical Christians that Democrats disrespect their values and dislike their church, while suggesting to the rest of the country that religious Americans care only about issues like abortion and gay marriage, school prayer and intelligent design,” according to an advance copy of his speech.

The profound absurdities in that statement are just overwhelming.

It is the left that has advances a secular agenda. It has tried to remove God from our coinage and our pledge. It is the left that has been most aggressive in denying students the right to pray in graduation ceremonies. It is the left that would rather starve the homeless than allow churches to participate in federal aid programs. It is the left that has forced church affiliated healthcare providers to provide services that go against church teachings. It is the left that has pushed church affiliated adoption providers to cater to the homosexual lifestyle — a lifestyle those who actually follow Christ believe is sin. In short, in the left’s eagerness to embrace the Christ’s telling of the Good Samaritan as the sole tenet of Christian faith, it has ignored all but a very superficial understanding of Christ’s telling of the rich man and Lazarus.

I could go on and on and on.

The problem Senators Obama, Clinton, and other Democrats are going to face is that many American Christians, in fact most American Christians, fundamentally do believe that abortion, gay marriage, school prayer, and intelligent design are fundamental issues today. Why? Because Senator Obama, Senator Clinton, the Democrats, and the media have been aggressively waging war against basic Christian values for three decades and that war has been fought against basic Judeo-Christian values of life, repentance, and faith.

You see, what the left does not comprehend is that calling yourself a church or a Christian does not actually make you a follower or believer in Christ as the one and only path to salvation.

Said Christ, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) The Democrats reject that very basic message and they should not be surprised when Christ’s followers reject them because of it.

    Kris Kristofferson circa 1972

    Jesus was a Capricorn
    He ate organic foods
He believed in love and peace
    And never wore no shoes

    Long hair beard and sandals
And a funky bunch of friends
Reckon we’d just nail him up
If he ever came down again

Cause everybody’s got to have somebody to look down on
Who they can feel better than anytime they please
Someone doin’ somethin’ dirty Decent folks can frown on
If you can’t find nobody else just help yourself to me

    Eggheads cussin Rednecks cussin
    Hippies for their hair
Others laugh at freaks who laugh at
    Straights who laugh at squares

    Some folks hate the Whites
Who hate the Blacks who hate the Klan
Most of us hate anything that
    We don’t understand

Cause everybody’s got to have somebody to look down on
Who they can feel better than at anytime they please

Someone doin’ somethin’ dirty Decent folks can frown on
If you can’t find nobody else just help yourself to me

  • “Everyday People” Sly and the Family Stone 1969-Kris probably had this tune strumming in his head and then thought of his.

Sometimes I’m right, but I can be wrong
My own beliefs are in my song
The butcher, the baker, the drummer and then
Makes no difference what group I’m in

    I am everyday people
    Yeah, yeah

There is a blue one who can’t accept the green one
For living with a fat one trying to be a skinny one
    Different strokes for different folks
And so on, and so on and scooby-dooby-doo

    Ooh, sha, sha
    We got to live together

I am no better, and neither are you
We are the same, whatever we do
You love me, you hate me, you know me and then
You can’t figure out the bag I’m in

    I am everyday people
    Yeah, yeah

There is a long hair that doesn’t like the short hair
For being such a rich one that will not help the poor one
    Different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby-dooby-doo

    Ooh, sha, sha
    We got to live together

There is a yellow one that won’t accept the black one
That won’t accept the red one that won’t accept the white one
    Different strokes for different folks
And so on, and so on and scooby-dooby-doo

    Ooh, sha, sha
    I am everyday people

This is very worth reading. See the similarities in Germany with Hitler and Bush in the United States. There is no doubt in my mind that Bush believes he had a moral duty to defend our Country but the neocons are socialists and atheistic and the two contrasting forces have us now in a people’s revolution. That is the goal of the socialist that follows Marx and Lenin to use war and fear to make us first fight and sacrifice our loved ones (the majority of soldiers who have gave their lives in the War on Terror are devout Christians-atheists in the fox hole is pretty much the exception not the rule).

Now when those on the side of the revolutionists such as the far right journalists called all dissenters traitors, we have a Country so divided. There is no way that the 70% of us that are weary of the War on Terror are majority not Christian. This is where it is dangerous to equate Christians with the Republican Party. We are in the final stages of a Democracy where all of the capital is becoming concentrated in the hands of a few, and struggle in the middle income class is taking place. This is the goal of the rich class is to destroy religion by using religion to wage wars. Now those that blame Bush for the war that do have some religion in their life but prefer to be private about it are easy pawns to go along with destroying the religous right. People will give up their religous freedom to gain a false sense of securtiy that a socialist like Obama or worse yet Hillary promotes. We will see the state grow to an even larger monster with the change of political power, but look what Bush and Company have done with the creation of the Medicare Drug Program and the Department of Homeland Security.

Right now Erick, you are allowing people at the top tell you who to support for President. It makes no difference to those at the top whether or not the great actor would be a good President, it is just assumed that because he is well known on Law and Order that he might be electable. Thus, like the majority of the CPAC group, you will sacrifice a reasoned choice for the winner of a popularity constest. This is like treating the Presidency as an American Idol contest. And that is the way it is on the Democrat side. Most are not looking for an honest statesman to lead them, and thus are willing to allow the state to grow even larger. And God is given even less respect in this nearly Godless society, as Hate Crimes legislation is pending right now in the Senate. We only pray that President Bush uses the power of the veto if it passes. I just can say that I have met some of the most devout Christians that vote Democrat, so we need to be careful when we label others.

  • When reading the article above about the economic crisis in Germany to note that we were also in an economic crisis before 911: Enron had fallen from $93 a share down to $.11 a share (I know because I am holding a stock certificate for a little over 400 shares-I did not buy it at the top, but still worth zero dollars). Sadam had threatended to start trading oil based on the Euro that would have cause our dollar to fall in value, many documents related to the Marc Rich investigations were in an office in the World Trade Center. The dot com bubble was all but destroying our financial markets because people had mortgaged homes to buy these high flying technology stocks. See the similarities, and understand that those that fail to study history are doomed by those that do and know when to pull out all the stops necessary to secure their financial well being at all costs.

  • There is no doubt in my mind that some powerful people had advance warning that 911 was going to take place because there are just to many pieces of the puzzle that fit together. If you think that there are not enemies of the United States residing in our borders, then I have some ocean front property to sell you in Arizona. That is why the neocons did not like the last episodes of “24” because it was just too close to the truth.

  • I learned in today’s sermon that there are 1,845 verses in the Bible that mention that Christ is coming again. This is eight times as many scriptures that talked of his first coming. Reminder to the scoffers, are you ready today if he returns today? As Pastor Queen said, that is 1,845 verses that you need to cut out of the Bible if you want to dismiss the second coming. There are seminaries today preaching false doctrine, and pastors standing in pulpits preaching false doctrine. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, and the only way to have the atonement from Christ is to be born gain and baptized. There is no other way to Heaven. I had a friend tell me last week that she is a Christian, but she says she gets angry when people ask her is she has been born again. How many people on your Peach Pundit blog got angry at this one simple statement, Erick? How many people stepped in and defended the word of Christ when Will Hinton trampled all over it? I will answer that, as there were maybe two of us that were not politically correct with the words straight out of the spiritually inspired scriptures that are blessed by God, which is the Holy Bible.

  • Psalm 84 >>
    King James Bible
1 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!
2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.
4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.
5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
7 They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
8 O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

The above scriptures are of David giving his love to God; pay attention to Verse 10. This is the Sermon my son, Mark, listened to in Virginia today. The greatest blessing is to have a son call and tell about his going to church on a Sunday.

  • I am tired of both these parties anymore. I honestly don’t know which party is worst. The Democrats because of their liberal anti-religion rhetoric/actions or the Republicans because I don’t think they really care and just use it to get votes. I wish we had a viable third party.

  • Somehow I think the fella that turned over the tables of the money changers at the Temple couldn’t care less about what our coinage says. I also think you are making B. Hussein Obama’s (ha ha) point by bringing up relatively unimportant issues as evidence of division. What would Jesus think of the Iraq War? What would Jesus think of the death penalty. I am not really good at Bible quoting but somehow I think Jesus would be on the same side as the Godless liberals on those two issues.
