Remember that time President Obama called out the United States Supreme Court in their presence at a State of the Union address? The left was more outraged by Justice Alito’s reaction than at President Obama. They cheered him on because they supported what he said.
Then there was that time the White House and leftwing interest groups coordinated efforts to badger, cajole, and attack Chief Justice John Roberts calculating he would back down from opposing Obamacare lest he make the Supreme Court seem political. It worked.
The left, again, was happy to attack the Court, attack a Justice of the Court, and saber rattle against the Court.
But oh my stars! Donald Trump tweeted this morning. He referred to a judge as a “so called judge,” which just means for the next four years progressives will call Trump a “so called President.”
The opinion of this so-called judge, which essentially takes law-enforcement away from our country, is ridiculous and will be overturned!

You would think armageddon is upon us the way the left is reacting. It is the end of the republic! It is the end of democracy! It is Caesar crossing the Rubicon! Calamity. Calamity!
No, it is a tweet. It is the President behaving as many of us said he would. It is no better and no worse than what President Obama did, but the left now disagrees, so they think it is worse.
In truth, both were wrong. Both were bad. Neither should have happened. But one was a precedent for the other.
This is where intellectual honesty and consistency come in handy and neither side has much in reserve.
