A Lack Of Credibility

Chris Matthews, allowing a partisan hack job by “9/11 victims,” allowed one of them to get away with this:

The only thing you have left at the end of the day is your integrity. And, clearly, [Rice] had all the warnings she needed. She should have told the president, even if she was unsure. It’s the president’s responsibility to really protect and serve this nation. He’s the commander in chief.

And on the morning of 9/11, even when the nation was fully under attack, our nation didn’t have a military response until after the Pentagon got hit. That was a full hour-and-a-half after the first plane was known hijacked. How is that possible?

Wow. The sheer enormity of the stupidity of that statement boggles my mind. I turned on the TV after the first plane hit. The report was that it was a Cesna. I remember thinking that the damaged seemed too much, but I’d believe it.

Then the Pentagon and 2nd tower got hit. We realized it was something major.

These four women who go around complaining about the President sound increasingly shrill and partisan — much like the 9/11 Commission.

So, what was our military response? We attacked the attackers where they lived. We sent them on the run. We shut down alliances and ousted a dictator who had the power to forge the alliances into something even worse.

UPDATE: The more I think about this the angrier I get. Is she implying that the only reason we mounted a military response was because the Pentagon got hit? Is what she saying that we would have sat back and pulled a Bill Clinton had not the Pentagon gotten hit? So are we to conclude that the soliders in Afghanistan and Iraq are a part of some innoble cause because they wouldn’t have gone if the Pentagon hadn’t gotten hit?

The fact that Chris Matthews didn’t challenge her bothers me as much as the statement. That statement is cold and ruthless in the politics it espouses.

It also tells me about how this woman views the government. She expects the government to respond immediately. She thinks that the goverment, not on a war footing, is actually able to respond immediately when the President is reading to kids and the Vice President and SecDef are in meetings. I think 1.5 hours for a government response time is amazing.

No doubt this woman also thinks the President does a piss poor job handling education because he is busy fighting a war instead of reading to school children — oh wait, he did that.

This woman is offensive.

  • This is just women being women. What would you expect but shrill hysteria and emotional handwringing from the widows of 9/11? The poor girl doesn’t even realize that she’s feeding straight into the stereotype the feminists have worked so hard to destroy.

Maybe somebody should ask her why her “man” didn’t stand up and fight like one, ala the “lets roll” MEN of flight 93?

But no, we can’t blame these women for acting like women, nor can we blame the media for exploiting their tears and fears. But we don’t have to take them seriously either.
