Just in case you thought former president Barack Obama was going away, the King of Cognitive Dissonance is back and dropping jewels of idiocy just like the old days. Speaking in Berlin a few days ago on his affinity for open borders, Obama threw out this stunning line:
“In the eyes of God, a child on the other side of the border is no less worthy of love…than my own child.”
First of all, the statement itself is unquestionably true. From a Biblical perspective, every being in existence is worthy of love because he or she bears the image of the Creator. The value of humanity is not predicated upon location, worth is not dependent upon position. If you are a living human being, you figure into God’s eternal architecture and thus your life is sacred.
But what is stunning about President Obama making that comment is the fact that his entire public career has been built upon the open denial of that self-evident reality. To Obama, location is the crucial, determining factor in what decides if a human being is worthy of love or not. In fact, he is so aggressive in this anti-Biblical, anti-humane, anti-compassionate view that he believes the location of a human being allows not just for the denial of love, but the denial of life itself.
If the “border” is defined not by the geographical boundaries between separate states, but by the biological boundaries between separate beings, no one has been a more flagrant violator of this principle than Obama himself. Remember, this is the man who carved out his early reputation as one of the lone legislators to oppose the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, which provided medical care to innocent children that survived a botched abortion attempt.
And lest anyone be inclined to defend this grotesque denial of human rights with the absurdly anti-science belief that life inside the womb isn’t really human life, note that these infants had already crossed that imaginary border and were living outside the womb. Furthermore, Barack Obama already rejected that ridiculous proposition that children in the womb aren’t living humans, albeit accidentally. Speaking about women’s rights in the workplace back in April 2015, Obama acknowledged the humanity of the preborn:
“Being reprimanded or fired for taking too many bathroom breaks when you’re pregnant. Clearly that’s a man making that decision because they don’t have five pounds of kicks pressing down on their bladder.”
Kicks don’t originate from lifeless blobs of cell tissue. They come from little humans who happen to be on the womb side of the “border.”
I get what Obama is attempting to do. I understand that he is trying to claim moral high ground on the issue of immigration and refugees by asserting that every human life is precious, regardless of their country of origin.
The only problem for him is that when you have established a hideous reputation as a man willing to deny even the most fundamental of all human rights to the powerless, simply to garner political power, you’ve lost your right to be heard.
