House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wis., talks to reporters on Capitol Hill in Washington, Thursday, March 3, 2016. Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, with whom Ryan ran as the vice-presidential candidate, is charging into the increasingly divisive White House race with a verbal lashing of Donald Trump and a plea for fellow Republicans to shun the front-runner for the good of country and party. An Old Trump Trick Nearly Traps Paul Ryan

Yesterday there was a lot of buzz about Paul Ryan regretting the kerfuffle with Donald Trump. Today, the Speaker’s office is denying those reports and the Politico is now reporting those reports must have originated with the Trump campaign.

This is an old trick by Donald Trump that his campaign has apparently taken to heart.

See this tweet from Phil Klein.

That links to this story at BuzzFeed showing how capable Donald Trump is at manipulating the press. Trump admitted to calling reporters, telling them things that might not be so, then having the press run with them once the other party to the story said “no comment.”

That’s actually a pretty clever trick.
