Arby’s Gives Nods to Hunters With Duck Sandwich Available on October 20th

Only 16 Arby’s locations will carry the limited-edition duck sandwich.

Arby’s has the [wild game] meats!

Two years ago, the popular fast food chain had a limited-release venison sandwich. Last year, they had an elk sandwich. This year at 16 participating Arby’s across the country on Saturday, October 20th, customers can enjoy theSeared Duck Breast Sandwich for a limited time. Here’s the catch: not only are few Arby’s participating, the 16 participating stores will have “limited quantities” of the sandwich.

In a nod to water fowlers, Arby’s had this to say as reasoning behind their decision to have a limited-release duck sandwich:

It’s that time of year again — the season of the hunter. This year we tip our hats to the men and women of the marsh, chasing the sunrise to set their decoys and patiently waiting for the fowl to fly in…True hunters know that successful pursuits in meat hunting begin with dedication and patience. Our Duck Sandwich is no different.

The duck meat is being sourced from Maple Leaf Farms in Leesburg, Indiana. Their claim is being “America’s leading producer of quality duck products, supplying consumers and retail and foodservice markets throughout the world with innovative, value-added foods.”

According to this source, the fast food chain will also partner with Duck’s Unlimited and give them a donation. How awesome! (Full disclosure: I’m a member of DU and serve on my local chapter’s executive board.)

While the meat isn’t “free-range” like that you’d harvest in the field, it’s nice to see Arby’s embracing different kinds of meats to lure in the cast and blast crowd.
