Ben Carson’s campaign continues to implode. He walked back a staff shakeup only to have a staff shakeup. His polling continues to go down nationally. And now in New Hampshire, a Ben Carson Super PAC just saw its staff quit to volunteer for Ted Cruz.
Jerry Sickles of Keene, the spokesman for the staff, said he and the other four staffers recently came to the conclusion that Cruz is the conservative most able to win the GOP presidential nomination and the presidency. He also noted that Carson has spent very little time campaigning in New Hampshire, which became frustrating to him and the other staffers as they tried to build support in the state.
Good for Cruz. A new poll in New Hampshire by Monmouth University has Trump in the lead followed by Ted Cruz tied with John Kasich and Rubio right behind at 12%.
I would take the Monmouth poll with a grain of salt, except given the margin of error it reflects the polling average up there with Rubio in the second spot.
Carson is only at 3% or so in New Hampshire, but given the groupings for second place, every bit helps and is going to help Cruz.
