  • The generals say “attack now” and Bush says “wait until it’s within my political interests to do so.” In the meantime, the insurgency will regroup and grow stronger. Our chances for victory go down, while the number of casualties we will sustain during a post-U.S.-election offensive goes up. That’s not how a commander behaves, Gilly. That’s how a coward behaves.

  • Ask the troops who will die in Fallujah and Ramadi in the name of George W. Bush’s reelection campaign who’s a credible commander in chief. Bush shouldn’t just lose the election, he should be impeached for holding the generals back on those offensives until after the U.S. election.
