A three judge panel has rules that the Georgia House and Senate districts violate the equal protection clause of the U.S. Constitution.

The districts in question are not the districts currently used. The districts in question were deemed to violate the voting rights act, that decision was reversed by the Supreme Court, and then Republicans sued under the equal protection clause because all Republicans were stacked in districts that had a population of +5 from the norm and all the Democrats were in districts that had a population of -5 from the norm.
