After hinting that he may seek re-election to the Senate, Marco Rubio has told colleagues he’s in, National Review reported.
This makes perfect sense, since a poll released Wednesday shows Rubio ahead of Democrats Patrick Murphy and Alan Grayson.
The Quinnipiac University Poll found Rubio leading Democrat Patrick Murphy, 47 percent to 40 percent. He leads Democrat Alan Grayson 48 percent to 40 percent.
Murphy, a congressman from northern Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties, is the preferred candidate of Democratic Party leaders, including President Barack Obama. Grayson is an Orlando congressman popular with the liberal wing of the party.
After his failed bid for the presidency and refusal to consider being Trump’s running mate, keeping the Florida Senate seat in Republican hands is best for the party, and for Rubio’s political future.
