BREAKING: Tillerson Confirmed as Secretary of State

The Senate has just confirmed one of President Trump’s most divisive picks, Rex Tillerson. The former executive of Exxon Mobile was confirmed in a 56-43 vote to serve as Secretary of State.

New York Times:

“A Texan, Mr. Tillerson, 64, earned an engineering degree from the University of Texas at Austin, got a job at Exxon in 1975 and climbed his way to the top, leaving only last year. Neither a diplomat, soldier nor politician, he is an unconventional choice for the job, but has vast international experience.”

A handful of Democrats and one Independent  sided with Republicans including Senators Joe Manchin, Heidi Heitkamp, Mark Warner and Angus King.
