Chief Burns Is Apparently Uninformed

The Chief of Police of Macon says that he is the chief law enforcement officer of the City of Macon and the Sheriff of the county has no law enforcement ability inside the city.

I don’t know where he went to law school, but I’m positive that the Sheriff of Bibb County and his deputies can go inside and outside the jurisdictional limits of the City of Macon, except that portion of Macon that spills over into Jones County.

  • Macon has always held a certain place in my heart, but it damn sure needs an enima… as far as its political/power players are concerned.

Why can’t the people of Macon see that Ellis is running that city into the ground; the Chief of Police is a major egomaniac, and that the city council is full of crooks and poor money managers?!

Wake up, folks. You’re letting your city be eaten by cancer from within.

    Thanks for the take…

  • Wow, I could not have said it any better! JB, we are all aware of what is going on with the cancer. Unfortunately, for those of us that live in the unicorporated part of the County we cannot vote. Many people have fled the County and cannot vote from their new Counties of residence. So here we must endure this painful experience.

  • Maybe instead of running to the county… good people should invest time in the city of Macon to bring it up. You can only run so far; your problems still end up on your doorstep, through crime, disease, or high taxes. Your painful experience is to sit back and watch!? Fight the good fight, it feels good!
