CNN Is Still Running Fake News About Price, Even After Trump Demands Retraction

The left is increasingly desperate to get a scalp from Trump’s crop of nominees, and they’ve gone after Georgia Rep. Tom Price, Trump administration HHS nominee, with a vengeance. Now CNN has crossed a line, engaging in pure speculation and character assassination, prompting President-elect Trump to strike back.

According to a piece written by CNN’s Manu Raju, Price bought shares in a health care company last March, then pushed legislation (the Healthy Inpatient Procedures Act) to drive up the stock price.

Price followed the law, and the cynical accusation that the bill introduced by Price–who is a medical doctor–introduced the legislation to make money on a $15,000 investment has been debunked. Now Trump and Price want CNN to retract the story.

On January 16, 2017, CNN broadcast a story by Manu Raju, titled “First on CNN: Trump’s Cabinet pick invested in company, then introduced a bill to help it”, which omitted facts and drew conclusions in an effort to attack President-Elect Donald Trump’s designee for Secretary of Health and Human Services, Dr. Tom Price.

The facts were available to CNN through House Financial Disclosure Filings. Mr. Price’s position on the Comprehensive Joint Replacement demonstration, which date back to fall 2015, is also a matter of public record.

Price’s lawyers have also gone after Manu Raju for his disregard of the facts. CNN said it’s standing by the story.

Such is the determination on the left to weaponize everything to stop Trump. I’m watching HLN right now as I write this, and they are still running the Price story as if it’s true, rolling tape of Sen. Elizabeth Warren throwing out unsupported accusations, to which Price replied: “I’m offended by the insinuation, Senator.”

It is indeed offensive when CNN takes off any mask of journalistic integrity and morphs into Buzzfeed.
