Dear @RealDonaldTrump, Here’s How to Pay For the Wall

Mr. President, a caller to my radio tonight had a brilliant idea. I hope you will consider it. It would help cover the costs of the wall. Just like stadiums, hospitals, and other groups allow people to buy bricks and put their names on them, you should consider doing that for the wall.

I would gladly fork over a few hundred dollars to have my name on a brick that denotes I am committed to keeping my country safe. You had 62 million people vote for you, and many of them voted because of the wall. I bet several million would gladly pay $100.00 for an engraved brick. Set up a separate segregated fund that people can donate to, make it tax deductible, and even if you get just 10 million of your voters to pay $100.00 for a brick, you would raise $1 billion of the projected $7 billion in costs. Raise the price, and you may pay for the wall outright.

A lot of Americans want to secure the border. It does not mean they are racist. It does not mean they are bad people. It means they recognize a country is sovereign and should be able to control who enters and exits.

Mr. President, Mexico does not need to pay for the wall if you let us all buy a brick or two ourselves and put our names on it. Heck, then you can sell ad space on the Mexican side of the wall so companies can advertise to the Mexicans living near by.

Treat this like an enterprise, Mr. President. I think this would be an excellent idea.
