Debbie Doesn’t Do Philly

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is out at the DNC. This should have happened long ago. If you remember going back to 2012, news reports surfaced that the Obama campaign did not want her being a surrogate any more. Too many people thought she was using the DNC to advance her own ambitions and she wasn’t serving the Obama campaign well.

Now, this year, it turns out from emails released from Wikileaks purportedly obtained by Russian hackers (and that is relevant to another story), Debbie had been stacking the deck for Hillary. There was also a lot of dysfunction within the DNC internally.

The humorous thing is that the Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee is being ousted the day before the Democratic convention for ensuring the person who actually is a Democrat gets elected. Remember, up until wanting ballot access last year, Bernie Sanders refused to join the Democratic Party. So the DNC Chair is ousted for ensuring the actual Democrat got the nomination.

Donna Brazile is going to take over as interim chair. She’s sharp, competent, and fearless. As much as the Democrats should not underestimate Donald Trump, the GOP should not underestimate Donna Brazile.
