With a few presses of buttons on his onscreen keyboard, Donald Trump signaled he completely agrees that the the 2016 general election needs to be audited and recounted.
Trump, for reasons beyond me, tweeted that he would have won the popular vote except for the 3 million illegal aliens who voted for Hillary Clinton. His tweet comes as the left begins a campaign to discredit the election and have the results audited. Trump’s tweet plays directly into that argument and is not even true.
While it is hard to argue with Trump’s position from a leftwing position that there were serious voting irregularities, it is now hard for Republicans to argue against the left’s call for an audit.
Trump, in one tweet, gave the left the talking points they need. Even the President-elect thinks there were massive voting irregularities.
Neither side is telling the truth. Trump won the electoral college fair and square. The Russians did not steal the election for him. But Hillary Clinton won the popular vote. There were no three million illegal immigrants storming the polls. In fact, if there were, Trump could not now claim to have outperformed Mitt Romney with both black and hispanic voters.
Will someone please rid us of that troublesome Samsung phone?
