Fake Scandals and Press Bias

President Obama pulled a fast one on the White House press corps this morning, leaving them behind while he went to one of his daughter’s soccer games in northwest D.C. This might not sound like a big deal, but according to the AP, Obama “quietly breached years of protocol.” Oh no….

So, according to the AP, “Reporters and photographers didn’t have a chance to see him or his vehicle to verify his presence at any location.”

That sentence makes it sound like Obama was in a secret meeting with William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright. But don’t worry — he wasn’t. A CBS reporter saw him at the game.

In what journalists fear may be a sign of things to come, Donald Trump ditched his press pool on Tuesday night, slipping out of Trump Tower to grab dinner with his family at the ‘21’ Club.

The move represents a significant break with protocol. While Trump did not break any law, it is customary for the president and president-elect to be accompanied by a press pool at all times, just in case something happens.
