Get Ready for the Media Blitz, Texas

Texas has adopted an open carry law for handguns. The state already had open carry for long barrel guns.

I can guarantee what is going to happen now. Every single shooting in Texas will be a front page news story. Every gun death will be part of an ad campaign. Every firing of a gun will be fodder for the nightly national news shows.

They’ll begin covering Texas gun shootings in ways they still do not cover the south side of Chicago. The point is not really to get the facts, but to build up an editorial position against guns and hope to scare Americans away from the second amendment.

CNN is doing a Presidential townhall with President Obama on guns. Think about that. They are not just covering a Presidential townhall. They are actively collaborating when we already know the President intends to take a position in favor of restrictions. This is CNN giving an editorial position in that direction. They can claim otherwise, but I am not sure anyone will believe them.

Likewise, we have already seen how so many networks cover gun crimes in the United States. Texas is going to provide a base camp for media operations against the second amendment.

Texas has passed a good law. It is a law that will make the state safer. But the state and its citizens need to be prepared to push back hard against a media that really did not need any more reasons to portray Texas as fringe.

Get ready.
