FILE - In this Feb. 17, 2016 file photo, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton laughs during a campaign stop in Chicago. Hillary Clinton’s work-related emails from her private account are now public, more than 52,000 pages detailing her tenure as America’s top diplomat but failing to resolve questions about how she and her closest aides handled classified information. Several investigations continue looking into her exclusive use of a non-government email account and homebrew server while in government, an issue that has dogged her campaign, even though she seems well-positioned to capture the Democratic presidential nomination. Here’s What Hillary’s Been Up To Lately (As If We Care)

I think most of us have assumed that, after Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election, she would just retire. Maybe she’d fade off into the sunset, be a grandma, learn to cook and sew, and maybe even take up driving again. But then rumors of a political future for Clinton keep popping up, from a 2020 run at the White House to eyeing the New York City mayor’s office.

Truth be told, most of us really don’t care what she’s doing now, as long as she’s not taking up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. But, thanks to The Hill (and it’s not short for Hillary, I checked), we now know.

Of course, Clinton has spent much of the aftermath of the election trying to figure out what went wrong. From meeting with donors to debriefing with staff and volunteers (bet there were a lot of objects thrown in those meetings), Clinton has worked really hard to figure out why she lost.

News flash: she blames the Russians.

For months, in private conversations, Clinton has griped about Trump’s connection to Russian President Vladimir Putin and suggested that no one seemed to care about it during the election.

At a gathering with donors in December, she was blunt. “Putin publicly blamed me for the outpouring of outrage by his own people … that is the direct line between what he said back then and what he did in this election,” Clinton said, according to audio obtained by the New York Times.

But for all the hand-wringing over the badly botched Clinton campaign, the former first lady, former senator, and former secretary of state is really just fine, thank you very much.

“She’s in a much better place than she was in two months ago,” said one confidant who has spoken to her in the last few weeks. “I think she’s very much forward-thinking and -looking than people think she is right now.

Clinton has stayed off Twitter for the most part, except to taunt President Trump when a federal appeals court put the kibosh on his executive order on immigration. She’s gone grocery shopping, taken long walks around her Chappaqua, NY home, seen a couple of Broadway shows and even had dinner with her husband Bill. She’s even made some speeches, because everyone loves her velvety smooth voice.

See, isn’t it nice to see that Hillary is moving on from the election? (Too bad the rest of the Left can’t move on, but I digress.) Now, if she would just stay out of the public eye, we would be even happier.
