This image made available by NASA on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015 shows an artist's rendering of a solar storm hitting the planet Mars and stripping ions from the planet's upper atmosphere. NASA's Mars-orbiting Maven spacecraft has discovered that the sun robbed the red planet of its once-thick atmosphere and water. On Thursday, scientists reported that even today, the solar wind is stripping away about 100 grams of atmospheric gas every second. (Goddard Space Flight Center/NASA via AP)

Hey, So What if Global Warming Is Actually a Good Thing?

Well this wasn’t supposed to happen:

A new study by researchers at the University of Southern Denmark suggests animals in the Arctic region are thriving because of higher global temperatures.

According to a press release touting the study’s new findings, warmer conditions have produced a larger number of life-sustaining “melt ponds” in Arctic waters.

“Melt ponds provide more light and heat for the ice and the underlying water, but now it turns out that they may also have a more direct and potentially important influence on life in the Arctic waters,” states the press release…The researchers said nutrients are able to reach sea creatures in the Arctic more easily because of the melt ponds.

This has always been one of the most frustrating realities of the climate change cult. Supposing that the globe was warming (as it has done before without human involvement), and supposing that man actually had some ability to control it (which is a rather silly proposition), and supposing that people in the United States could actually make that significant of an impact by reducing our collective carbon footprint (which is absurd when you consider the much larger amounts of carbon produced by places like China), what ever made us think that our current global climate is as desirable, pristine, and perfect as it could possibly be?

Not to oversimplify the issue, but there’s a reason people are moving south. And it’s the same reason global warming alarmists hold their conventions on tropical islands instead of the Arctic Circle.

Remember this movement of religionists that push the climate change narrative are the same ones who believe the Earth has been persisting through climate fluctuations and changes for millions and millions of years – without human impact. They reverence in wonder the miraculous adaptability of plant and animal life that has evolved through all of these dramatic changes. Yet now they fear that a global increase in climate temperature will do irreparable harm to Mother Earth?

What bunk. This example from the Arctic is but one of many potential benefits that could come from a warmer planet. Think of the dramatic increase in farmable, irrigable land that would result, and the implications that reality could have for fighting global hunger. Think of the milder winters for humans, animals, and plants that currently suffer through cold months.

And while the Warmer cult constantly frets about the potential increase in global storms that could result, let’s not forget that while those storms may seem violent and destructive to us, more storms and more precipitation means the release of more nutrients and minerals into nature.

Perhaps this simple awareness should prompt the wise among us to recalibrate our discussions about climate change? Rather than ignorant conferences and legislation aimed at enacting futile attempts to alter Earth’s climate which would result only in debilitating industrialized societies and trapping third world nations in poverty, we should be developing creative ways to harness the emerging changes to improve the lot and life of Earth’s plant, animal, and human populations.  Just a thought.
