LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - AUGUST 18: Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton answers questions from journalists after speaking to north Las Vegas voters at a town hall meeting in Las Vegas, on Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Hillary Clinton Makes Galaxy Quest Real

Proving her devotion to long-dead and buried beltway cultural icons, Hillary Clinton has engaged the cast of “The West Wing” to campaign for her all over Ohio. Minus Martin Sheen.

Blockbuster stars such as Richard Schiff, Allison Janney, Bradley Whitford, Dulé Hill, Joshua Malina and Mary McCormack–wait, these aren’t household names to you?–will grace the beltway meccas of Cleveland, Sandusky and Toledo. Then they’ll head to Dayton and Columbus.

I’m sure they’ll be received with all the adoration a series which ended in 2006 (minus the star) deserves. With apologies to the legendary Alan Rickman (God rest his soul), this reminds me of the fictional cast of Galaxy Quest, reduced to appearances at geek-fests and electronic store openings.

Clinton has scraped the barrel’s bottom, and finding nothing worthwhile, she’s scraped the outside of the bottom. It’s really sad and pathetic.

(The tweet above, minus Michael Landon–God rest his soul–of course.)

But for a woman who hasn’t driven since 1996, this is about as relevant as she gets. This tweet sums it up nicely.

That sentiment applies in so many ways.
