Assuming this is accurate:
Reports @POTUS will tomorrow announce US Embassy in Israel WILL move from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Phone conference with Netanyahu today

This is a really big deal.
For years, every American President has promised on the campaign trail to move the American Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, but then got in office and decided against it. The issue has to do with the Israeli-Palestinian peace. The Palestinians view Jerusalem as contested territory. Tel Aviv is safely Israeli territory. Moving our Embassy to Jerusalem would be considered taking a side — the side of the Israelis.
This is a really big deal when it comes to Middle East peace efforts and, while it could potentially destablize peace, is actually a good thing. It recognizes truth. Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and embassies should be in a nation’s capital.
It will, however, make security more difficult for the American Embassy as you can bet terrorists will consider it a significant target.
