Jeff Sessions as Attorney General. Who Replaces Sessions?

As I noted a few hours ago, Sessions is going to be the Attorney General pick, which has just now been made official.

He will be a good pick, but highly controversial. The media is going to attack Sessions on race grounds from his time as Alabama Attorney General.

I have a hard time believing that will scuttle his nomination before his Senate colleagues with whom he has long served.

Also, this now opens Jeff Session’s seat in Alabama. Keep your eye on Congressman Gary Palmer in Alabama’s 6th Congressional District. He’d be the best replacement for Sessions in that they two are most alike on policy and Gary is a sharp, critical thinker. But, I’m told Congressman Mo Brooks desperately wants the job and began lobbying for it the moment Trump won, assuming Sessions would move to the cabinet.

The Alabama Governor gets to pick a replacement for Sessions.
