Originally I thought this Ryan Lochte holdup thing was going to be a big story. Third world country, armed robbers and all. Lochte was strangely quiet about all this.
Because apparently he fibbed.
The official said that swimmers Conger and Bentz, who were pulled off a plane going back to the United States late Wednesday, told police that the robbery story had been fabricated.
A police news conference was scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
USOC spokesman Patrick Sandusky said late Thursday morning that Lochte’s teammates were scheduling a time and place to meet with authorities.
Now #LochteGate is trending on Twitter.

And, suddenly it’s about race. Because there’s no African-American swimmers to kick in doors and pee on the floor?
white privilege is going to a foreign country, peeing on a business's floor & kicking in a door, & then saying YOU were robbed #LochteGate

Lochte is now back in the U.S., and likely to stay here for a while. Originally his fib was reported by his own mother. Outed by mom, what a #FAIL.
