U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-FL, appears on "The Five" television program, on Fox News Channel, in New York, Monday, March 30, 2015. Closing in on an expected announcement that he will run for president, Sen. Marco Rubio said Monday that he is planning a political event in two weeks in Miami to announce his 2016 plans. The first-term Republican from Florida, appearing on Fox News, did not explicitly say he is running for the White House, instead telling would-be supporters to go to his website and reserve tickets for the rally. Looks Like Marco Rubio is Running for Re-Election

Rubio is re-considering it. I got a note from a friend earlier this week saying he gets the sense Marco is going to run. Right now he is thinking about it.

The field in Florida is beginning to clear for him. Carlos Lopez-Cantera is willing to get out if Rubio gets in. They are friends.

Rubio, according to several people, says the events of this past week in Florida have compelled him to re-consider. He cares passionately about the national security issue and this happened on his turf.

Republicans in Washington have been desperate for Rubio to run again. They believe he can keep the seat in the hands of the GOP even with Trump as the nominee.
