Makes You Wonder if the Thousand Years is Now Expired

I keep thinking about the insanity of Donald Trump’s race.

We have no more hypotheticals about a Supreme Court in the balance, it actually is. We have a terrorist organization burning people alive overseas. The Chinese have been emboldened to harass their neighbors while the Russian lick their lips at Eastern Europe. Europeans have moved toward a secularism unprepared to cope with a tide of growing and increasingly radicalized Islam.

At home, we have millions of Americans on the sidelines of employment while the press and President hail the amazing economy we now have. Republicans are more angry at conservatives for daring to fight than at Obama for daring to beat them.

So a sizable number of Republicans have decided to choose a Democrat who will say or do anything to get their vote and contradict himself within the structure of a single sentence. But the people do not care.

The GOP’s chickens are coming home to roost. They promised to oppose amnesty, then worked with Obama to do it. Having failed to get it through the House, the GOP turned to unelected black robed masters to stop Obama instead of actually fighting his executive order.

Then Jeb Bush entered the scene, locked up major donor money, and prepared for a coronation with major Republicans in Washington nodding approvingly.

People lost their minds and the seriousness of the situation has not returned them to their right mind. This whole craziness brings home Ephesians 6:12, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

There’s more than something in the water. Scalia is dead. The nation hangs in the brink. And many an American is ready to jump off a cliff led by the Pied Piper of Fifth Avenue.

For many of us, we can only sit back, warn of what is coming, and watch the trains collide. It continues to amaze me. Maybe the thousand years has expired.
