Meet Stand For Truth PAC, the Bastard Step-Child of the Ted Cruz World

The dirty little secret in Ted Cruz land is that Stand for Truth PAC is despised. It’s a PAC that establishment guys created as Cruz appeared to get traction. It’s principle player is a former Mitch McConnell staffer named Eric Lycan. It’s steered daily by Josh Robinson who had been at the Republican Governors Association. It is the Establishment’s play to try to suck up to Cruz.

It is not viewed as a team player by the world of Cruz.

It is showing today.

All the other Cruz Super PACs have strategically withdrawn from Florida. Some have gone so far as to yank YouTube videos related to Florida.

But not Stand for Truth PAC. It has just jumped in to attack Rubio and, in the process, is willfully scuttling a lot of good will otherwise being fostered between the anti-Trump forces.

The Cruz campaign has no control over it, cannot communicate with it, and I am told is really, really pissed with Stand For Truth doing this. So too are others within the sphere of Team Cruz. It comes at a time the campaigns are trying to be strategic with each other to stop Trump.

Early on I was told some of Cruz’s folks were worried that, given the players at Stand For Truth, it could become a malignant, uncontrolled force. It looks like today those fears were proven true.

Donors should shun Stand For Truth PAC now.

Update: Direct personel from Cruz 2016 have asked me to update this and let folks know they are happy with the work of Stand For Truth. Other people not directly with Cruz 2016 have asked me to update this and note that in response to this post the organization has yanked all its ads in Florida that are attacking Rubio.
