Megyn Kelly Makes Today Debut: ‘I am Kind of Done with Politics for Now’

“Hello. Hello everyone. Welcome. I’m Megyn Kelly. Thank you all so much for being here. I’m so excited, so excited. I am also a little nervous. Bear with me, please. I’m so grateful to all of you that you’re here as part of our first audience; you in the studio and you at home as well. As you heard we have the cast of ‘Will & Grace’ here live, along with the show creators. (Cheering and Applause) And then we’ll be dissecting the latest tweet from President Trump. Oh no! We would not do that. No. No, we will not be doing that. The truth is, I am kind of done with politics for now. (Cheering and Applause) I know. You know why, right? We all feel it. It’s everywhere. It’s everywhere. And it’s gotten so dark. And I’m just like over. We have more on that in a minute. But first, let me just say, that every day, right now, during the show, what we’re going to be doing is we’re going to be talking about stories that have caught our attention. And we’re going to be discussing them with you, things that you’re going to be talking about over dinner that night or over coffee with friends or over a double martini before news. Who am I to judge what’s inappropriate. If my producers and I do our jobs, [indecipherable] find out what you need to know today, to get yourself through the day, to have a laugh with us, the smile, sometimes a tear, and maybe a little hope to start your day. Some fun. That’s what you want to be doing.”
