Moustache Coffee: My New Favorite Coffee Roaster

Christy and I are somewhat particular about our coffee. We have a coffee maker that grinds the beans just before brewing them. The flavor of freshly roasted, freshly ground coffee is far superior to the pre-ground stuff in the vacuum sealed bags.

While you can go to the grocery store and often get whole beans these days, the internet and modern shipping channels has made it really easy to get freshly roasted whole beans quickly. Therein lies the rub.

There are a ton of companies doing this. I can tell you that I have tried most of them.

We started with a company that was later bought by Blue Bottle. They make great coffee, but towards the end of our stay with them, the coffee almost always tasted like it had fruit in it. I passionately hate fruity flavored coffee. So we gave up.

We moved to Counter Culture, but I wasn’t happy with the lack of variety. It is great if you like that one thing, but I like Jamaican, Costa Rican, Peruvian, Ethiopian, Hawaiian, and I wanted some variety.

So we moved to Drift Away Coffee. I do recommend it, but for some reason both Christy and I kept getting an upset stomach from it. Great, I guess, if you need help with the daily constitutional, but we didn’t.

We stepped away for a while and then I decided to give Moustache Coffee Club a try. We have not been disappointed yet. The coffee is different each week and fresh as all get out. Literally, they roast on a Tuesday and ship it that evening. Each roast is a single origin and we have not yet been disappointed in their variety.

If you want to give them a try here’s a discount code to use. They’ll give you $10.00 to try out their coffee. I think it is totally worth it. Our house smells amazing every morning now.
