Our Money Is Bigotted

Who knew!? The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has determined that our money is bigotted. The court ruled that the money can’t be distinguished by blind people and therefore must be changed. Don’t expect this ruling to last.

  • My mother is blind, and it would not be difficult to change the currency so she could distinguish the bills. It would also help in preventing counterfeiting — add raised braille-like bumps at specific locations and you can’t copy it on a photocopier anymore.

What she does now is have family members fold her bills into distinctive shapes. Good for her. She has family members she can trust to do that. Not everyone does.

Hope your mom never goes blind, Erick.
