Part 2 of the Fred!Cast

ImageSince last week’s Los Angeles Times hit job on Fred Thompson, a few things have happened.

First, since the Los Angeles Times article came out, it’s been pointed out that Senator Thompson had never acted as a cowboy and thus could not have related a story Ms. DeSarno claims he related. That bit of the article has now mysteriously disappeared from the Los Angeles Times article.

Second, Thompson had not gone to work at Arent Fox, the firm from which Thompson was allegedly hired, until several months after the abortion rights group claims it hired him through Arent Fox.

On Saturday, I talked to Senator Thompson about the accusation. You can listen to his response in part 2 of our podcast.

Beyond the LA Times allegations, I asked Senator Thompson about his views on Iraq. He gave a forceful defense of the war and the reasons for going to war. Likewise, he is adamant that failure is not an option. To fail, surrender, withdraw, or retreat would be viewed as weakness by our enemies and would subsequently open us up to further attacks. Senator Thompson believes we must do everything possible to win the war.

  • The financial cost of the war is $12 BILLION a month, recruitment goals in the army are not being met and the President is down to a 29% approval rating.

The humam cost of the war cannot be measured, and the war was lost when it became political when lies were told about the heroism of Jessica Lynch (sp?) the lies were told about Pat Tillman’s death and when President Bush did that ridiculous Mission Accomplished before the 2004 election. There were not enough troops sent in to get the job done from the start, and anyone that disagreed with the war mongers was either fired or resigned. This war cannot be won because we are now viewed as an occupier.

How would we feel if China came into our Country and removed our President and told us we are here to give you our brand of freedom? I know what I would do, I would get every gun that I could find and kill every foreign invader that I could find. We could have removed Sadam and his Gurus with covert action, but when we missed with our bombs and killed innocent people that is when the war was a failure. And yes, the bombs were not accurate enough to avoid collateral damage. So I say to Thompson supporters, just how do you win a Civil War? Are we to kill every remaining poor Iraqi Citizen, until the rivers run with blood like Revelation says. Is that the Zionist plan?

  • The Marine Corp was set up in 1776, and I assure you it was never the intention of the Marine Corp to be anyone’s nation building’s force nor or the Marines to be policemen of the world. Our first line of defense, the Marine Corp, has been over stretched and abused. I am speaking from a civilian point of view, but I do see the big picture.

I emailed the Freedom Alliance and informed them that it was wrong for Hannity and North to use the soldiers to promote their candidate for President. These concerts are for the benefit of the military, and the military should not be forced to accept the pushing of Thompson upon them at the concert in Atlanta. It is wrong for Hannity to use a charitable cause where people like me have donated money to advance his candidate. The military does not belong to the GOP, and I know for a fact that one Gold Star Mother detests the politics involved in war, and the lady that I know is a personal friend.

Ask Mr. Thompson if you get another interview what he thinks about this 1996 policy paper written by neocons: “A New Strategy For Securing the Realm.” Are we going to follow this blueprint and quite paying out $3 billion plus in aid to Israel per year to ease the burden on our growing astronimal deficit? Are we going to separate church and state in foreign affairs like the ADL and the ACLU complain all the time about the mingling of church and state? Are we going to get away from this false Zionist Christianity that has turned the evangelicals into war mongers who dare not read the Sermon on the Mount that is in Matthew 5? Would Jesus condone invading the Middle East to control the oil and commercialize the lands with a foreign democracy that is the people do not want? The Iraqis wanted to be free, but they did not ask for the hell hole that this war has given them.

You know we want to know just what is Thompson’s doctrine. I wonder if he is just content with the idea of allowing the puppet masters to pull his strings, and play the big actor in the big White House for prestige and noteriety? I wonder what new policy paper lurks out there in cyber space for the next US foreign adventure?

    Matthew 5
1And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

2And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

3Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

7Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

8Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say
