Powerful. Marlins Hit Emotional Homer Honoring Fallen Player – WATCH:

Following the tragic passing of all star Marlins pitcher, Jose Fernandez, Marlins infielder, Dee Gordon hit an emotional home run. Gordon later said, “Every time I see his number, his name, I keep hearing his voice.” This was Gordon’s first homer of the year, hit while wearing Fernandez #16 jersey. The entire team was overcome by emotion.

Fernandez was 24 years old and tragically passed away in a boating accident over the weekend. After leaving Cuba as a teenager, Fernandez came to the U.S. and quickly rose in fame as a pitcher. Fernandez heroically rescued his mother after she fell overboard on their voyage to the U.S.
