Priebus: Trump Didn’t Pee On The Carpet, Good Dog

The delusional GOP leadership still thinks they can crate train Donald Trump until he’s housebroken. Poor dears.

Trump makes one teleprompter speech where he doesn’t spew racist invective and somehow he’s reformed. (I’m glad that Priebus and McConnell aren’t sitting on some parole board somewhere.)

“It’s time to quit attacking various people you competed with or various minority groups in the country and get on message,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell urged Trump in remarks to reporters Tuesday. “He has an opportunity to do that. This election is eminently winnable. The American people at their core do not want four more years like the last eight. I hope that’s what he will do. We are all anxious to hear what he may say next.”

Yeah I’m anxious too. With a mop and pooper scooper. Actually it’s not mine to clean up. I gave up this flea-bitten hound to the pound that the Republican Party has become months ago.

Speaking from his golf club in Westchester, N.Y., with the aid of teleprompters, a rare move for the celebrity businessman who lives off-script, Trump said it would be an “honor to lead the Republican Party to victory this fall.”

“I understand the responsibility of carrying the mantle, and I will never ever let you down,” he continued. “I will make you proud of our party and our movement.”

Such a load of bull crap has not been heaved upon the public since Bill Clinton questioned the meaning of “is.”

From the beginning, Trump has made the GOP his lap dog. From the very first question at the very first debate, when Megyn Kelly asked Trump if he’d sign a pledge not to go third party, they’ve tried to leash him and make him something he’s not and will never be.

“I’m not a politician fighting,” Trump assured his supporters, despite his more measured tone. “I’m me.”

They will not listen and they will never learn.
