Protesters Disrupt Moment Of Prayer For Steve Scalise

Timing matters.

President Trump paid a visit to Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Wednesday for a campaign-style rally. The president touched on many things during his hour-long speech. He congratulated Republicans Karen Handel and Ralph Norman on their wins in Georgia and South Carolina, respectively. Trump’s theme focused mostly around his America First agenda.

The president then tried to hold a moment of “thoughts and prayers” for Rep. Steve Scalise. The Louisiana congressman was targeted by a deranged Bernie Sanders supporter during a GOP congressional baseball practice. Scalise, the House majority whip, was in critical condition when rushed to the hospital – he has since been recovering.

Sadly, as Trump was trying to hold a special moment for him, protesters thought it good timing to blow whistles and disrupt the rally:

Trump – no stranger to protesters – replied with, “Never fails, never fails.” After he realized what was going on. Supporters drowned out the hecklers with chants of “USA, USA!” until they were removed.

The rest of the speech went on without a hitch.
