It’s the battle of the year featuring two heavyweights bringing all they have against each other in front of a live audience across the nation.
In this corner: he’s old, but he’s spry. He’s like Santa Claus without the white beard or the red suit or the jolly demeanor. You want free stuff? He’s ready to give it to you, as long as you stay off his lawn. He’s BERNIE SANDERS!
In the opposite corner: he’s the man who would be president, the Texas Tornado! He’s the hero of constitutionalists everywhere, a deep thinker with answer for every question and the most cracker jack social media team in the business. He’s TED CRUZ!
Ok, so it’s not the UFC or the WWE. It’s not the thrilla in Manila either, but it is a showdown between two political heavyweights. Senators Cruz (R-TX) and Sanders (I-VT) are set to face off against each other in a debate televised on CNN on Tuesday, February 7 at 9:00 p.m. The topic? Obamacare and the future of health care.
Will it be the debate folks on both sides of the aisle have been waiting on (or wish could’ve happened)?

Or will it be little more than a barely interesting exercise in discussion between two policy wonks on opposite sides of a complex issue? One thing’s for sure: we know where each of the participants stands on the issue of Obamacare, so there shouldn’t be a whole lot of surprise.
Right now, it just seems too predictable to be that interesting. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong come Tuesday. Then again, maybe I won’t.
