Women Help Women. Sounds nice, doesn’t it? What woman wouldn’t be open to help from another?
Unfortunately, the phrase Women Help Women doesn’t tell the whole story – it’s as if they’ve left something off. Women Help Women … do what?
Glad you asked. Perhaps one of the following clarifications would help:
– Women Help Women Kill Their Own Babies
– Women Help Women Break the Law
– Women Help Women Experience Severe Emotional Trauma
Confused? Maybe this will help …
The group Women Help Women announced recently the rollout of a website designed specifically to help women carry out their own abortions at home – without the supervision of a medical practitioner and without concern over whether the practice might be illegal in their home states – as one Pennsylvania woman found out a few years ago.
From The Washington Post:
“Women Help Women … this week launched a website to provide one-on-one counseling services for women early in pregnancy who may have illegally obtained the pill on the Internet or through other means.”
Information available on the group’s website carries the usual disclaimers of being “for informational purposes only” but even the casual reader can see this is not true.
“Misoprostol alone, or in combination with mifepristone, is a safe and effective way to end a pregnancy in the first 12 weeks. It is approved by the World Health Organization as a safe abortion method when used by women themselves to 9 weeks and has been used successfully by millions of women around the world, without a clinician.”
The implication there is obvious. Though skirting legal responsibility with its disclaimers, Women Help Women is encouraging women to perform their own abortions at least up to the 9th week of pregnancy – and beyond, since an online counselor cannot accurately determine how far along the woman on the other end of an Internet connection happens to be in her pregnancy.
For those who may be unfamiliar with human development during pregnancy, here are some of the characteristics of a human embryo at the 9th week of gestation:
– observable heartbeat
– arms, legs, hands, and feet
– elbows easily discernable
– discernable individual fingers and toes
– early development of sexual organs
– continuing development of eyes, tongue, skeletal system, neural system (including brain), and other internal organs
– approximately ¾ inch in length

Now imagine a scared young woman about whom you care deeply following the guidance of an online Women Help Women counselor. A few days later her body discharges this.
This is what Women Help Women wants to do – under the guise of healthcare.
