Frustrations and Fighting Back

Most of us remember a time or two, when as children in the back seat of the car, while raising holy hell, mom looks back with the flat of her hand pressed against her chin, declaring “I’ve had it up to here…!”

It seems as if the White House and conservative Republicans feel the same way. For some time, there has been this sense of the inevitability of frustrations boiling over, resulting in pushback against one-sided investigations and new calls for the appointments of additional Special Counsel investigations.

Rep. Bob Goodlatte R-VA Chairman House Judiciary Committee along with twenty Republican House members have called for the appointment of a Special Counsel to investigate both Hilary Clinton, James Comey and Loretta Lynch: (Wash Examiner)

Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee want the Justice Department to appoint a second special counsel to investigate actions taken by Hillary Clinton, James Comey and Loretta Lynch during the 2016 presidential election. Twenty Republicans, led by Rep. Bob Goodlatte of Virginia, who is Judiciary Committee chairman, wrote a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein requesting the appointment of a new special counsel.

These House members “have had it up to here” with the one-sided liberal attacks concerning all things Russia all the while seeing actual criminality ignored.

“The unbalanced, uncertain, and seemingly unlimited focus of the special counsel’s investigation has led many of our constituents to see a dual standard of justice that benefits only the powerful and politically well-connected,” the Republican lawmakers wrote. The letter comes after the Judiciary Committee on Wednesday approved an amendment demanding from the Justice Department, information related to Comey’s handling of the Clinton email case. Comey is the former FBI director fired by President Trump in May.The amendment demands information on “leaks” by Comey on “the propriety and consequence of immunity deals given to possible Hillary Clinton co-conspirators” and Comey’s decision to “usurp the authority of then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch in his unusual announcement that criminal charges would not be brought against” Clinton.

But they also want to balance the Russian investigations: (Wash Examiner)

In addition to Clinton and Comey, the amendment targets Susan Rice, former President Barack Obama’s national security adviser. Some Republicans argue she inappropriately sought the identities of people close to Trump — in a process known as “unmasking” — whose communications were captured after the election in surveillance of foreigners by U.S. spy agencies. The Judiciary Committee Republicans want a special counsel to probe whether Comey had advance knowledge of Rice’s unmasking request. Other information sought includes communication between Comey and Mueller before the Senate Intelligence Committee hearing last month in which the former FBI director described his interactions with Trump, and evidence of “any or all” leaks by Comey to New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt dating back to 1993.

But, they are not stopping there, finally DWS comes under the spotlight: (CNN)

Imran Awan, who has worked for several House Democrats, including Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, was arrested Monday and charged with bank fraud as he tried to leave the country, legal documents show. FBI spokeswoman Lindsay Ram said FBI and US Capitol Police arrested Awan at Washington’s Dulles International Airport as he attempted to travel to Pakistan. Awan, 37, of Lorton, Virginia, was a shared employee paid by more than a dozen Democratic House offices, congressional disbursement documents show, for January to March 2017, the most recent period for which data are available. A report from BuzzFeed in early February said House staffers were under investigation for stealing equipment, and Politico reported Awan was one of those under investigation. Gowen said most offices ended their relationship with Awan, but that Wasserman Schultz’s office continued to keep him on the payroll until the day of the arrest.

The White House is now pushing back and demanding a thorough Congressional investigation: (Wash Times)

The White House called Thursday for a thorough investigation related to the arrest of an IT staffer for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz D-FL who remained on the job and with congressional computer access for about five months after FBI began investigating him for fraud.“I do think it is something we should fully look into and there should be a thorough investigation,” said White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

These two investigations are a decent start into a corrupt Obama administration and should only be the start. The Clinton Foundation’s ties to the Clinton State Department and Obama White House should have its own Special Counsel. The IRS should be investigated for its criminal activity against Tea Party and conservative political non-profit organizations, and the Assistant FBI Director McCabe should be investigated for his role within his wife’s political campaign while he was directing the Trump Russia FBI investigation.

When frustration boils over, when people feel attacked from all sides, when one’s agenda is continually resisted, reaction isn’t always honorable or righteous. To be sure, tweet attacks on Jeff Sessions and a profanity laced interview by Mr. Scaramucci are neither. They are sinfully shameful.

One would hope the White House recognizes the assistance coming from the House of Representatives, and prompts the Justice Department to move full steam ahead with those investigations. The only sure way to blunt the Resistance is to overwhelm them with government investigations into their own illegal activities.

Recognizing this, the MSM has now begun a new talking point, to wit: it is unseemly for the White House and Republicans to investigate and prosecute their political opponents, namely Hilary Clinton. However, it seems as if  Rep. Goodlatte and Sen. Grassley have had enough and that argument will fall on deaf ears. Time will tell if the Republicans have the stomach for a long drawn out fight against the Resistance, but if they don’t, they have only themselves to blame.

Wasserman Schultz Fleeing Aide is a HUGE Story, So the Liberal Press is Killing It

The arrest of Pakistani Imran Awan as he tried to flee the country is an enormous story. I’ve followed it since February, when the House of Representatives Sergeant-at-Arms banned Awan and his brothers from the House computer network.

The Awans provided IT consulting for 40 Democratic members of Congress. They had full run of the networks, computers and files of these elected officials and their staffs. The amount of damage they could have done (and now it seems likely, did do) is inestimable.

In March, I wrote:

Now we’ve learned that Imran Awan had passwords and complete access to Wasserman Schultz’s iPad at the time of the DNC email hack. FBI Director James Comey said the DNC did not cooperate with the agency’s investigation, according to The Hill.

And although other Democrats in Congress have fired the Awans, Wasserman Schultz has retained Imran as an “adviser.” Why is she protecting the lead suspect in a criminal probe?

The Awans have links to a Hizbollah-related fugitive, and they’re deeply involved in money scams, extortion, and threats of violence. Now the FBI raided Awan’s home and customs officers arrested him at Dulles airport trying to flee.

But this morning, the Washington Post (“Democracy dies in darkness”) has no mention of it on its home page. New York Times: Nada. New York Daily News: fuhgetaboutit. ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN: Nope.

Fox News ran the story.

Wasserman Schultz has been completely uncooperative with this running investigation.

Meanwhile, the counsel for Wasserman Schultz, the former Democratic National Committee chairwoman, recently began negotiating with Capitol Police for access to her laptop in the case. Until this point, she had resisted USCP efforts to look at her computer – even suggesting “consequences” for the agency if the computer was not promptly returned.

The affidavit filed by the feds only references “a scheme to defraud a Congressional Federal Credit Union.” But that’s not why the House Sergeant-at-Arms banned the Awans from the government network. It’s not why Schultz kept Imran Awan around as a “consultant.”

There’s more to this story, and probably a lot more. But the leftist media would rather report on Trump’s tweets, his speech to the Boy Scouts, and who will play 007 in the next James Bond movie.

And they wonder why nobody in America trusts the main stream media.

FBI Seizes Democrat Computer Equipment – But Not The Ones You Are Thinking Of

The FBI has seized hard drives in connection with an investigation into the former information technology administrator of former Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schulz (D-Fl.). The hard drives in question are not the ones that you are thinking of. The hardware in question is apparently unconnected to the Russian hack of the DNC.

The Daily Caller reports that hard drives belonging to Imran Awan, a Pakistani IT worker for Wasserman Schulz since 2005, were found by the new tenants of a rental home formerly occupied by Awan. The new tenants, a Marine veteran married to a Navy officer, thought the equipment looked suspicious and called the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. According to the renter, the trove contained “wireless routers, hard drives that look like they tried to destroy, laptops, [and] a lot of brand new expensive toner.”

“It was in the garage. They recycled cabinets and lined them along the walls. They left in a huge hurry,” the Marine said. “It looks like government-issued equipment. We turned that stuff over.”

The FBI an Capitol Police arrived later to confiscate the equipment and interview the couple.

Imram Awan, together with two brothers, their wives and two other friends also worked for several House Democrats. The Daily Caller reports that the group was paid more than $4 million by Democrats since 2009. The Awans and their colleagues were fired by House Democrats last March amid an investigation into theft of computer equipment and committing illegal violations of the House IT network.

Whatever is on the computer equipment, Awan is apparently desperate to get them back. The Marine renter reported that Awan, who is his landlord, threatened to sue the couple to get the items back. He says that Awan also refused to have mail forwarded to his new address.

The investigation of the Awans is still unfolding, but it may cause problems some congressional Democrats as well. In May, Wasserman Schulz demanded the return of a laptop believed to belong to Awan. The Daily Caller reported at the time that Wasserman Schulz claimed that the laptop belonged to her and asserted congressional privilege. Police have not examined the laptop, citing the Constitution’s Speech and Debate Clause, but they also did not return it. Wasserman Schulz is currently in negotiations to provide police with access to the data on the computer.

An FBI spokesman said, “FBI does not have anything to provide on this and I will still have to refer you to [Capitol Police] for any public comment.”

Debbie Wasserman Schultz Threatens Capitol Police Top Cop

Florida is known for its colorful characters and even more colorful scandals.  That’s why Dave Barry practically patented the phrase “I swear I’m not making this up” while writing columns for the Miami Herald.  From former governor Lawton Chiles, who used to run around wearing a coonskin cap, to Anna Nicole Smith, who went on her last bender in a Hollywood hotel room, the Sunshine State has regurgitated its share of weird on the rest of the country–so much that Florida Man has become its own Twitter meme, and regularly produces such headlines as, “Murder suspect who used big-penis defense found not guilty.”

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, she of the voice that would make fingernails on a chalkboard sound warm and seductive, seems determined to carry on that tradition.  In 2016, while chairman of the Democrat National Committee, Wasserman Schultz got busted tipping the scales in the 2016 presidential primary, freezing out populist poster boy Bernie Sanders and sewing up the nomination for her pal Hillary Clinton.  Voters–who thought that their votes actually counted–didn’t appreciate this display of grrrrl power, which compelled the DNC to show Wasserman Schultz the door.  For some reason, though, this didn’t seem to matter much to the voters in her district, who sent her back to Congress where she sits on one of those subcommittees that decides how much money the House of Representatives spends on things like the Capitol Hill Police.

But that wasn’t enough scandal by Florida standards, so Wasserman Schultz has upped the ante by making veiled threats against the chief of that very same Capitol Hill Police.  No, this wasn’t one of those Cynthia McKinney things where she tried to smack an officer with her cell phone.  It was actually much more serious than that, and involved a laptop that the Capitol Cops seized as part of an investigation into the shady practices of an IT consultant may have improperly billed certain Democrats–Wasserman Schultz among them–millions of dollars for services not actually rendered.  Strangely enough, these Democrats don’t seem terribly concerned about getting took, even though their fleecers have fled to Pakistan with all the money.  In fact, they seem rather anxious to close the books on the investigation and move on.

Which brings us to the aforementioned laptop.  It was found, stuffed in a crevice at one of the congressional office buildings, obviously in the hopes that it wouldn’t be discovered.  Wasserman Schultz says that the laptop is hers, and that she wants it back.  In fact, she wants it back real bad–bad enough to start pushing hard:

“My understanding is the the Capitol Police is not able to confiscate Members’ equipment when the Member is not under investigation,” Wasserman Schultz said in the annual police budget hearing of the House Committee On Appropriations’ Legislative Branch Subcommittee.

“We can’t return the equipment,” Police Chief Matthew R. Verderosa told the Florida Democrat.

“I think you’re violating the rules when you conduct your business that way and you should expect that there will be consequences,” Wasserman Schultz said.

And what “consequences” might those be?  If I didn’t know better, I’d say Wasserman Schultz was implying that she might use her position to take a machete to the chief’s budget.  That, or she’ll start singing “I Will Always Love You” if she doesn’t get her way.

So what’s so important about that laptop, Debbie?

Like the ending of The Usual Suspects, that’s the real question, isn’t it?  Could be that Wasserman Schultz just has some embarrassing pictures  from the last ComiCon on there that she’d rather not have people see–but given her own rather checkered history, it’s very possible that something far more damaging might be lurking on the hard drive.  Chris Queen has already written here about concerns that the former consultants may have been blackmailing Democrat house members.  Could it be that they also had something on Wasserman Schultz, and that the very information they used to extort her in on that laptop?

It would certainly explain why House Democrats are anxious to make the investigation go away–and why Wasserman Schultz would so brazenly threaten a police chief.

It’s funny how all this has escaped the attention of the mainstream media, though.  I mean, when Donald Trump supposedly told James Comey that he hoped the FBI director could let the investigation of Michael Flynn go, it was all over the news–even though that account has yet to be verified.  Here, Debbie Wasserman Schultz is caught on camera trying to influence the course of a criminal inquiry, and there’s nary a peep from CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, the Washington Post.

It’s almost like there’s a double standard at work.

VIDEO: Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Keith Ellison Refuse to Participate in the Standing Ovation for Ryan Owens

Yeah, yeah, the Democrats want you to know former DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz and would be DNC Chair Keith Ellison stood up the first time for Ryan Owens’ widow. But watch the video for yourself. The first time they stand, Ellison very clearly claps briefly, but thereafter they barely stand, never applaud when standing, and flat out refuse to participate in the standing ovation for Ryan Owens and his widow.

The website Snopes says this is false, but see it for your own eyes. They refused to participate in the standing ovation while everyone around them stood and applauded.

We Should Thank Bernie Sanders For This

President Obama officially endorsed Hillary Clinton today. He also met with Bernie Sanders at the White House, probably to hand him a participation trophy–thanks for running, Bernie!

The president seemed to have recorded his endorsement on Tuesday based on those who obsess over POTUS’ neckwear.

We should thank Bernie, however, for his one sacrifice that will at least save the country from the neurotic, shrill stylings of the DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz. From Yahoo News:

The Senate aide noted that Fox News’ Chad Pergram reported that Sanders could ask for the removal of Wasserman Schultz in his meetings with both Obama and Reid. In a series of tweets, Pergram said “some Dem sources believe the key to getting unity” with Sanders after a tough primary campaign is “booting Wasserman Schultz.” Sanders’ campaign has also called for the removal of the co-chairs of the DNC’s standing committee on rules, Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloy and former Rep. Barney Frank. The Senate aide expected that Sanders will present Reid with plans that would help him join a post-primary effort to unify the party.

And we thought the GOP was fractured. Barney Frank is a wart on the pimpled derriere of even leftist Massachusetts. The further we can get him from anything resembling influence (in any arena, even the Democrats), the better.

Thank you Bernie for your service. Now, please go home.
