Seriously, Read the Comments on this Kushner Holocaust Heroic Tale

Jared Kushner’s family has some serious street cred at battling Nazis, but liberal politics won’t let some people accept it.

The Times of Israel published a fascinating and heroic story of the Kushner family during WWII, Jared’s grandmother Rae, as a teenager, not only survived the Holocaust, but helped dig the longest tunnel ever used to escape a Nazi ghetto, led hundreds to freedom, and then joined Jewish partisans to fight her enemies.

In what became one of Belarus’ best-known Holocaust stories, Rae helped lead prisoners through the weeks-in-the-making escape tunnel, which was the longest of its kind in Nazi-occupied Europe and facilitated the biggest escape through a tunnel by Jews.

Rae Kushner was a legitimate badass.

Now we scroll down to the bottom of the Times of Israel post, into the slithering snake pit known as the comments section. Erick told me never to read the comments, and with good reason. It’s why we don’t have a comment section here at The Resurgent.

But sometimes comment sections can be more revealing of the reader and culture than just a collection of trolls on a website.

Here’s one from Susannah Greenberg, who swung and missed the point entirely.

This is how Nazism got its foothold. Complicity, silence. RESIST. Trump is the new Hitler. Face the reality. Kushner is too busy scooping up the money to see the writing is on the wall, the swastikas in fact.

Wut? There’s more.

Jared is a tragic falling off from his heritage and defiles the memory of this woman. She was a self sacrificing hero. He is a spineless, greedy, self serving criminal. So was his father. Jared has done nothing to decry the new wave of anti semitic acts and neo nazism that Trump has wrought. Kushner is silent. Shame! Tragic.

Kushner is an observant, Orthodox Jew. He is friendly with Israel and hard on the Palestinian leaders. Susannah Greenberg wrote that Jared and his dad Charles “are not worthy to be descendents of Rae who I’m sure would be rolling in her grave at the thought…”

Let’s see. Charles Kushner was convicted of various campaign-related crimes in 2005, and his mother died in 2004. Setting aside the fact that speaking of someone’s mother and grandmother in that way is extremely offensive, I’m pretty sure Rae would take up for her son, knowing how Jewish mothers are (I had one).

Here’s one from someone calling themselves “DC Sardine, Senior Professor at Sardinia University” (right!).

Because all this is merely a paean to Jared. The worthy grandmother only has value in today’s press when illuminated by the magnificent halo of Jared, a halo such as only countless millions of US dollars shining concurrently can project. A halo that can vie with God’s own laws, and secure exemptions.

Myrna Solganick of UW Madison (I do believe that), wrote:

Its preposterous for the Times of Israel to be celebrating Jared Kushner. For one thing, he cannot rest on the laurels of his forebearers. For another, he has done NOTHING to stand up to the dictatorial, ignorant and fascist policies of his father in law. His family may have been brave but Kushner is just a spoiled rich boy. It is reprehensible to me, as an American Jew, to hear the TImes laud a young man who is complicit with the policies of his father- policies, for that matter, fly in the face of everthing Israel and Judaism stand for.

To which Cameron O’Sullivan of Grand Rapids, Michigan, as Irish as Patty’s Pig as my stepfather would say, offered the perfect response.

Left wing Jews are one of the most delusional groups on the planet earth.

After that great start, O’Sullivan veered off into historical inaccuracy and la-la land, claiming “Israel was founded by ethnic nationalist far right wingers.” LOL, no. Israel was founded by socialists mixed with a few Orthodox Jews and a generous helping of intellectual elites. But the first sentence was great.

Read the threads for yourself. They have nothing to do with the bravery and desperation of the Kushner family, which for Jared, was within living memory. He was born in 1981 and certainly heard these stories from the source.

It seems we are in greater danger of trashing the lessons of the Holocaust when we let politics get in the way of its memory. Some liberal Jews are no better than Holocaust-deniers when they say things like certain Jews, based on their politics or marriage choices, are unworthy of that heritage.

Trump Pledges to Confront Jew Hatred: ‘Holocaust Denial Is Anti-Semitism’

A somber and serious President Donald Trump addressed members of Congress and dignitaries at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, calling the Holocaust “history’s darkest hour.”

The president quoted Eli Weisel during the museum’s Holocaust Day of Remembrance (Yom Ha’Shoah) ceremony Tuesday morning. “For the dead and the living, we must bear witness,” Trump said, before telling the audience “Holocaust denial is anti-Semitism.”

“This is my pledge to you. We will confront anti-Semitism,” he said, noting that the sentiment had become popular on college campuses of late. Trump added, “As President of the United States, I will always stand with the Jewish people, and I will always stand with our great friend and partner, the State of Israel.”

Trump has been very consistent in his support and words of friendship toward the Jewish state, a marked departure from his predecessor’s cold shoulder and active opposition. It’s disheartening that some of Trump’s biggest online supporters in the so-called “alt-right” don’t share his affection for Jews. Perhaps he should confront them first.

The president closed with the story of Gerda Weissmann Klein, a Holocaust survivor who later married her American liberator and became a prolific writer. President Obama gave the 2010 Presidential Medal of Freedom to Klein.

“Never again,” Trump solemnly declared.

With the way Europe and the Middle East are going, I hope, as my Yiddish mother used to say, the words went from Trump’s mouth to God’s ears. May it be so.

Embrace The National Holocaust

“Hillary Clinton will be the next president of the United States, and the Republican Party elected her.”

It’s difficult to find a word infused with more meaning than “holocaust.” But depending on who you are, other words are grenades with self-pulling pins, like “lynching” or “gringo.” Use whatever works for you.

From the earliest time–for me it was late February–since Donald Trump vs Hillary Clinton could reasonably be suspected to end up as Act III of the three-act tragedy of American history, I and many other writers have seen this coming with a sense of dread. It’s like we have read the script through and know how it ends after the scene where little Cole tells Dr. Malcolm Crowe “I see dead people.”

We’re all heading in a forced march toward the same revelation Peggy Noonan had in April, “that moment when 2016 hits you.” There’s even a poll validating Noonan’s feelings. For fun, PPP–not the most reliable pollsters–decided to see how many respondents would prefer global incineration by a giant meteor (affectionately known on Twitter as SMOD, the Sweet Meteor of Death) to either Clinton or Trump. The meteor polled at 13 percent, above Gary Johnson.

President Obama flew with Clinton aboard Air Force One to a campaign event. If there was a clearer signal that there will be no charges forthcoming against Clinton, I can’t think of one.

Trump continues to do whatever Trump wants without even chipping the orange paint troweled around his pursed lips.

I was going to title this piece “Nothing Matters” but then I had the rare epiphany that things do still matter. It’s just that the things that matter to one person don’t matter at all to others. All the bridges connecting principle to reason have been burned.

The word “holocaust” comes to us from the Greek “holokauston,” meaning “whole” and “burn.” It’s an appropriate word.

It’s appropriate because just 71 years ago the seminal event happened in which the wheels of human industry were applied to the stripping of human beings of all value and reducing them to ash in massive death factories. It’s appropriate because the best-known living witness to that Holocaust, Elie Wiesel, just died.

It’s appropriate to use the term “holocaust” to remind us that self-hating moral cowards like Max Blumenthal defend Holocaust deniers and wrap their worm tongues around the eardrums of Hillary Clinton. It’s appropriate to use the term “holocaust” when Trump tweets anti-Semitic blood libels in an internet meme and his defenders tell us to chill. And Sarah Palin tells a sympathetic crowd to hate their neighbors, because “you’re either with us or against us.” (“If you’re not with me, you’re my enemy.”–Only a Sith Lord deals in absolutes, Sarah.)

It’s all burning down before our eyes.

The GOP is evenly split between those who say go with Trump and those who say dump Trump. No matter what the convention decides, the GOP is effectively destroyed. It’s all according to the script–I wrote this on August 8, 2015, right after Erick disinvited Trump from the RedState Gathering (in fact I wrote it from my hotel room in Atlanta).

Trump is a direct result of the GOP’s inability to define itself as a party with a purpose. If the GOP is defined as “everything that isn’t Democrat” then it’s nothing more than the Whigs of 1854. Dead.

GOP, it’s time to grow up and look down into the grave that the Whigs fell into before our party goes the way of the Know-Nothings.

With horror, I am seeing it all happen before my eyes. All the warnings, all the words spent, all the pleading, nothing has stopped this tragedy from unfolding.

Hillary Clinton will be the next president of the United States, and the Republican Party elected her. Then comes the holocaust of politics and the rule of law. As it all burns, I will do everything I can to help those caught in the flames they ignited to get out alive to fight another day.

May we all learn by embracing the holocaust.

History’s Greatest Frame-Up

Over 80 years ago, the Nazi regime perpetrated the greatest frame-up in history. They conspired to, and nearly succeeded in, eliminating all the Jews in the world, and blamed the crime on Christianity. Christianity has repeatedly been charged, convicted, and sentenced for this crime, even today.

Last night began Israel’s observance of “Yom HaShoah”, the day of remembrance of the Holocaust. Today Israel sounded its air raid sirens nationwide, stopping, literally, everything. Cars pull over to the side of the road. Pedestrians stop. Busses stop. Everyone gets out, into the streets, and bows their heads for two minutes. There’s nothing like it in the USA. It’s a yearly reminder of Israel’s deeply ingrained national identity and intimate connection to the Holocaust. Israel supports the largest concentration of living Holocaust survivors, roughly 50% of the half-million or so remaining. About 127,000 live in the United States.

This is likely the last generation who will have these first-hand witnesses with us. Even a baby born in 1945 who was confined at a ghetto would be turning 71 this year. Most survivors are in their 80’s and 90’s.

In Israel, it is taught that the Holocaust was the logical working out of Christian anti-semitism. Yad Vashem, the Israeli national Holocaust remembrance organization, publishes on its website:

Hatred of the Jews had long been entrenched in Europe. The image of the Jew as the murderer of Jesus and the fact that Jews had rejected Christianity’s embrace led to widespread hatred and suspicion. Jews in Christendom were humiliated, banished from their places of residence, forced to wear identifying marks, and confined to separate residential quarters. They were portrayed as offspring of the Devil and accused of the ritual murder of Christian children, yet the Church prevented their destruction.

Although this is historically true, it doesn’t recognize the Satanic roots of Jew-hatred and the hijacking of Germany as a Christian country by progressive ideas which denuded Christianity into a purely social Gospel. The Berlin Declaration of 1909 denounced Pentecostalism and moves of the Holy Spirit, killing that movement in Germany, which in the United States became the Assemblies of God (along with the Church of God and other Pentecostal denominations). The era of enlightened philosophical and intellectual freedom present in Germany, along with the devastation of the loss of WWI, and the rejection of the ruling aristocracy, was fertile soil for pagan ideology.

Hitler was, above all, a pragmatist. He determined what his audience (whichever audience he was addressing) wanted to hear, and spoke those words. He rarely spoke his real intentions publicly, unless he was addressing his closest circle. In fact, the 1920 NSDAP Party Program (their platform) centered around such lofty ideas as self-determination, equal rights and obligations, welfare, profit and wealth distribution, access to education, and freedom of religion, with a viewpoint of “positive Christianity without binding itself confessionally to any denomination.”

This intentional ambiguity allowed the Nazis to cherry-pick the ministers and clergy with whom they agreed, and label the rest as troublemakers, who oppose progress. They were thereby able to effectively silence those elements of the Church who disagreed with the draconian anti-immigration, suppressive press restrictions, and elevation of the “German people” as a race above all other citizens.

It also planted the seeds of the massive frame-up in history’s garden. Germany was historically a Christian nation, and the people were a hard working, church-going, moral society. But that society was based on a group of presuppositions which were snatched by the pagan Nazi leaders and used to lead that nation into collective savagery.

The Nazi party was formed, led, and guided by pagan principles, starting with Guido Von List and his List Society (known as the HAO), of which Himmler was a devotee, to Sebottendorff and his worship of runic gods*:

In the place of our princes of Germanic blood rules our deadly enemy: Judah.. . . As long as I hold the iron hammer [a reference to his Master’s hammer], I am determined to pledge the Thule to this struggle. Our Order is a Germanic Order, loyalty is also Germanic. Our god is Walvater, his rune is the Ar-rune. And the trinity: Wotan, Wili, We is the unity of the trinity. The Ar-rune signifies Aryan, primal fire, the sun and the eagle. And the eagle is the symbol of the Aryans. In order to depict the eagle’s capacity for selfimmolation by fire, it is coloured red. From today on our symbol is the red eagle, which warns us that we must die in order to live.]

Ever the pragmatist, Hitler publicly renounced these pagan beliefs, and used Christianity as his lever to move the German people to his will. Granted, he had plenty of ammunition in the anti-Semitic ravings of Martin Luther written from his deathbed. These were selected over Luther’s work to befriend the Jews and show them the love of Christ earlier in his ministry. Of course, the Jews were suspicious of him, and eventually rejected him, leading him to his bitter rants.

The suspicious nature of Jews regarding the aims and goals of Christians is well earned. The church has, over the millennia, stained its hands with Jewish blood**. This was true 75 years ago and it’s true today.

Christians, especially conservative, evangelical, American Christians, must repent of treating the Jews like a tool of the liberals. Even against their own best interests and the interests of Israel, American Jews feel a deep distrust of all things Christian, even those who extend the hand of friendship. This continually drives them into the less strident, progressive liberal camp, where they are welcomed without the fear of being proselytized. One day, Jews will accept the truth about the Holocaust, but that will require time and healing.

While we wait and pray for this reconciliation, we must realize that the Nazis framed Christianity, and we are still doing time for the crime.

The lesson is that we cannot, and must not allow, Christianity to be stripped into a purely social Gospel. Hillary Clinton’s keynote address to her denomination, the United Methodist Church, stepped into this exact trap. Following President Obama, arguably the least religious president in history, Clinton’s viewpoint is dangerous, even catastrophic, for our culture, which is dangerously far from Biblical truth. Nature abhors a vacuum, and will fill the vacuum with any idea that takes hold.

As Malcolm Muggeridge famously wrote:

One of the peculiar sins of the twentieth century which we’ve developed to a very high level is the sin of credulity. It has been said that when human beings stop believing in God they believe in nothing. The truth is much worse: they believe in anything.

The Nazis used this sin to perpetrate the greatest evil in the 20th century, and blame it on Christianity.

[Disclosure:  I am a Jew who follows Messiah. I have experienced both the deep suspicion, the blaming of Christians for calling Jews “Christ-killers”, and also the redemptive awakening as I repented of those biases. It is possible, one soul at a time]

*I recommend a short book “The Occult Roots of Nazism: Secret Aryan Cults and their influence on Nazi ideology” (2005) by Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke, and I quoted from that work.

**Please read Dr. Michael Brown’s book “Our Hands are Stained With Blood” as an excellent source about the church’s oppression of Jews.

Never Forget, Never Again

It’s both unsurprising and sad that more people probably know today is Star Wars Day (May the 4th Be With You) than Yom HaShoah, Israel Holocaust Remembrance Day.

[Update: technically, Yom HaShoah is tomorrow, May 5, which is Cinco de Mayo, but it starts at sundown today, which is about now in Israel.]

The political climate in Europe, and increasingly, in America, supports the narrative that Israel is a bully, a conqueror, and an occupier. Some even go so far as to deny the Holocaust, calling it a Jewish conspiracy to gain international support for a Jewish state. Not only is that a damnable lie, but it’s an unashamed sign of Jew-hatred.

The British Labour Party has a Jew-hater in its midst: Ken Livingstone  claimed that “Hitler had once supported Zionism and that antisemitism was not ‘exactly the same’ as racism.” This man is an elected Member of Parliament.

Mr Livingstone also said there was a “very well-orchestrated campaign by the Israel lobby” to smear anyone who criticised Israeli policy, adding that someone was only antisemitic if they hated all Jewish people, “not just the ones in Israel”.

Hillary Clinton surrounds herself with rabid Jew-haters, some of them self-hating Jews (something a psychologist will have to explain to me). Sidney Blumenthal is one her closest advisors. His son Max is an unabashed friend of the butchering Palestinian terror groups. Clinton regularly read his garbage and commented positively on it while she was secretary of state.

Huma Abedin, Clinton’s friend and State Department aide, has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, father group of Hamas, which has as the core of its charter the total destruction of Israel and extermination of the Jews. In another Jewish self-hating irony, Abedin is married to disgraced former congressman and failed NYC mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner.

Donald Trump pledged to be “a neutral guy” in the Israel/Palestinian conflict. Then just yesterday, he called for Israel to keep building settlements in the West Bank.

He asserted that Israel must continue to move forward with building projects, a position that directly contradicts that of both the Obama administration as well as the Palestinian peace-negotiating apparatus.

“Thousands of missiles [are] being launched into Israel. Who would put up with that? Who would stand for it?” Trump said. “I’d love to negotiate peace. But I mean a lasting peace, not a peace that lasts for two weeks and they start launching missiles again.”

Well, which is it, Mr. Trump? Neutral or standing with Israel? Nobody knows because pinning Trump down is like nailing Jell-O to the wall. Meanwhile, Holocaust deniers adore Trump, who has thrown out just about every conspiracy theory he can dig up in the last decade. Just yesterday, Trump cited the National Enquirer on a link between Ted Cruz’s father and John F. Kennedy’s assassin.

How long will it be before we see Trump throwing out Holocaust-denial conspiracies if he (God forbid) ever tries to negotiate a “deal” between the Palestinians and Israel.

Listen to me: The truth is that the only reason the Palestinians exist is as leverage in a long-term plan to destroy Israel. This plan dates back to the 1920’s. It’s not a secret plan. The mullahs, the Arab League and the Mufti of Jerusalem were consistent and unmovable about their opposition to a large Jewish population in the Holy Land (they still are). They paid large populations to move from surrounding areas and settle in the land to counter Jewish immigration.

They have tried to destroy Israel ever since May 15, 1948 when the Israeli flag replaced the Union Jack in Jerusalem. They wouldn’t reabsorb the settlers they paid to live in Israel after most of them left voluntarily during the bloody war. They let these people languish in disgusting filth, in refugee camps, for over 60 years, training them to hate Jews from the time they are born.

I’m not saying the Israelis are perfect, but as Dennis Prager explained, the problem is simple: “one side wants the other dead, and if it didn’t, there would be peace.”

The Holocaust happened. Six million Jews perished. I know, millions of non-Jews died in the war, and others were put into concentration camps besides Jews. But over 50 percent of the entire world’s Jews were killed, systematically, on purpose, with facilities, machinery, and whole industries applied to their genocide.

Denying the Holocaust is an insult to God and mankind. Forgetting the Holocaust is a peril with incalculable consequences. We must never forget the Holocaust, because Jew-hatred is never going to go away*, and as long as Israel exists, it exists on one singular foundation summed up in two words: “Never again.”

*Jew-hatred will one day go away, but it will happen when the lion lays down with the lamb, and when Christ returns for His bride. Dr. Michael Brown wrote:

Why does Satan so passionately despise the Jews? For one thing, it is a reflection of his hatred for God. The Jews are God’s chosen people! By hurting them he seeks to hurt the Lord and take revenge for his own sentence of death. His effort to annihilate the Jews is also an attempt to discredit the Lord, since He has sworn in His Word that they will never be destroyed. If Israel ceases to exist as a distinct people, then God did not, or could not, keep His promise. That would mean that He was either powerless or that He lied!

But there is another reason the devil despises the Jews: The salvation of Israel means the return of Jesus, the resurrection of the righteous, the revival of the Church and the restoration of the earth. The fulfillment of the Jews’ destiny will seal the devil’s doom. Yes, “the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet” (Rom. 16:20) . . . and he is beginning to squirm! The time to favor Israel is upon us and Satan is quaking with fear. The countdown has begun.

Barack Obama and the Moral Equivalence of Holocaust

This is perhaps one of the most disturbing parts of Barack Obama’s speech to the muslim world.

While insisting on the reality of the holocaust, something many muslims deny, Barack Obama puts the genocide of 6 million Jews in the same category of what has happened to the Palestinians — something largely inflicted on themselves through their suicide bombings, calls for the destruction of Israel, etc. He treats them as morally equivalent.

Read this passage from today’s speech:
