Relax. Melania Trump Has Not Been Replaced By a Robot

Presidents and parties may come and go in Washington, but conspiracy theories remain. It doesn’t seem to matter if which party is in power, the cottage industry of conspiracy theorists will find something sinister to be alarmed about. George W. Bush allegedly engineered the September 11 attacks. Barack Obama supposedly had secret plans to invade Texas and impose martial law. Now the internet’s self-appointed guardians against the New World Order have uncovered a conspiracy that involves President Trump.

This conspiracy doesn’t involve Russian meddling in the 2016 elections or claim that the Trump Administration is covering up second shooter in Las Vegas. The armchair warriors against “Them” are worried that – wait for it –Melania Trump is robot.

To be fair, not everyone thinks that Melania is robot. Some just think that she has been replaced by a flesh and blood body double.

The claim that Melania is not Melania seems to have begun with Joe Vargas, a Twitter user whose handle is “” If you need further clues as to Vargas’ credibility, his Twitter page prominently features the green cross used to identify marijuana dispensaries.

Vargas posted a CNN video clip of the president and First Lady with the caption, “This is not Melania. To think they would go this far & try & make us think its [sic] her on TV is mind blowing. Makes me wonder what else is a lie.”

Trump’s often awkward behavior and phrasing fed the conspiracy. The clip that Vargas posted began with the president referring to “my wife, Melania, who happens to be right here,” leading the woke ones to wonder why he had to remind people that Melania was right beside him if it was really Melania.

“I initially didn’t notice, but thought it was strange when he said ‘my wife Melania, she’s right here’ to try & convince media it was her,” Vargas tweeted. As further proof, the True Believers noted that Melania did not speak.

Others fed the growing conspiracy as they recalled another weird moment from a few weeks ago. Visiting Florida after Hurricane Irma, President Trump said, “I just want to thank everybody, the first responders, on behalf of myself, our vice president. Melania really wanted to be with us. It’s really touched her heart what’s gone on.”

Sounds normal, right? The only problem [cue spooky music] is that Melania was standing right beside President Trump the whole time. The video of the moment has gone viral.

“Yo they’re actually using a fake Melania Trump stunt double,” Treymeister89 tweeted. The laughing emoticons in his tweet suggest that Trey is not treating the crisis with the gravity that it deserves.

In a tweet that has apparently been deleted, “Pumpkinsauce” claimed, “Melania trump was replaced by a very lifelike robot 14 years ago the only giveaway from this remarkable machine is the cold, dead eyes.” Perhaps “They” hacked into his account to delete the tweet.

Strangely enough, Business Insider, not known for conspiracy reporting pointed out that there is a real woman in the Trump entourage, presumably a Secret Service agent, who bears a striking resemblance to Melania. The two have been photographed together on numerous occasions. It isn’t clear whether the mysterious woman was also present when the Vargas video was made or at the press conference in Florida.

There is no evidence that the presumed Secret Service agent has ever acted as a double for Melania. If her purpose was to be a body double, it is unlikely that the Secret Service would put her in place to be photographed with Melania, essentially blowing her cover.

Occam’s Razor holds that the simplest explanation is usually the right one. The simplest explanation in this case is that Melania is Melania and that President Trump is poor public speaker when he doesn’t have prepared remarks. The president has had other gaffes that were plainly not slips that uncovered a sinister conspiracy. For example, it was only last week that Trump said that he met with the president of the Virgin Islands when Trump himself is the president of the Virgin Islands since they are a US territory.

Much of the fuss is satire or people mocking the True Believers, but quite a few seem to seriously believe that Melania is not Melania. As shocking as it may seem, I suspect that Vargas may have crafted the original tweet as a viral marketing tool for his “medicinal” internet business.

The bottom line on the Melania body double conspiracy is a simple one: This is your brain on drugs. Don’t do drugs.

Liberal librarian tries to insult Melania Trump but looks foolish instead

When Melania Trump offered to donate several Dr. Seuss books to a school library in Cambridge, Massachusetts to celebrate National Read-A-Book Day, librarian Liz Phipps Soeiro haughtily rejected her gift. Ms. Soeiro sniffed in reply:

You may not be aware of this, but Dr. Seuss is a bit of a cliché, a tired and worn ambassador for children’s literature. As first lady of the United States, you have an incredible platform with world-class resources at your fingertips. Just down the street you have access to a phenomenal children’s librarian: Dr. Carla Hayden, the current Librarian of Congress. I have no doubt Dr. Hayden would have given you some stellar recommendations.

What might Ms. Soeiro have preferred? The photo accompanying this BBC article might suggest she would have accepted ten copies of the “children’s book” Rad American Women A to Zbut even that is doubtful because the actual problem for Ms. Soeiro doesn’t really seem to be the gift, but the identity of the giver.

It’s probably just as well, considering “A” stands for Angela Davis,  a former Communist, a Marxist professor, and a leader of the radical and often violent Black Panther movement. After all, not many parents want their children reading ideological liberal garbage that glorifies domestic terrorists while the kids are still in elementary school.

Fellow Resurgent writer Heidi Munson astutely observed in her earlier article that the snub seemed politically motivated, and her analysis proved to be right on the money. Here’s the real danger of being an arrogant liberal like Liz Phipps Soeiro — enough people will remember pictures like this, and gleefully post them on social media:

Why, it’s that very same hypocrite librarian, in costume as the Cat in the Hat, in a picture dated only two short years ago! Did two years really make that much of a difference in the erosion the reputation of Dr. Seuss, or is the true goal to be politically divisive as Ms. Munson surmised earlier, because the only real difference in two years is the First Lady?

Inquiring minds want to know…but in reality, we’re pretty sure we do know the primary motive for liberal behavior is irrational, out-of-control anger.

Librarian refuses free Dr. Seuss books from Melania Trump, makes it the latest politically divisive issue

Liz Phipps Soeiro, librarian at Cambridgeport School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, took the occasion of the donation of 10 books by First Lady Melania Trump in recognition of National Reading Week to make a political statement.

The librarian, who superciliously noted that, “My students have access to a school library with over nine thousand volumes and a librarian with a graduate degree in library science,” rejected the books.

Why, you may ask? Because Dr. Seuss is racist, of course. Or, as she put it, “Dr. Seuss’s illustrations are steeped in racist propaganda, caricatures, and harmful stereotypes.”

OK, we get it. Soeiro hates the Trumps and has a leftist ax to grind. We also understand that she is using her position as a librarian to influence the children in her charge to leftist ways of thinking.

But, look. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know how divided and filled with anger we are as a nation. Is using Dr. Seuss books as a political wedge helpful?

Is it good for us – any of us – to continue to hate one another? We may dislike someone’s political point of view – and even see it as destructive – but can we please stop making, literally, everything political, as the librarian seems to want to do?

In her public repudiation of the books, which was filled with various jabs, she acknowledged the praise her school received in the letter accompanying the books and found it necessary to emphasize the acclaim by touting “diversity”: “Our beautiful and diverse student body is made up of children from all over the world; from different socioeconomic statuses; with a spectrum of gender expressions and identities; with a range of abilities; and of varied racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds.”

Congratulations, Ms. Soeiro. You ought to take pride in the fact that those particular children’s parents happened to moved there.

She went on to tout the government:

“Cambridge, Massachusetts, is an amazing city with robust social programming, a responsive city government, free all-day kindergarten, and well-paid teachers (relatively speaking — many of us can’t afford to live in the city in which we teach).”

I wonder if Ms. Soeiro realizes that the majority of people can’t afford to live in the city in which they work – hence, rush hour.

Alas, even her amazingly well funded school, populated with students who check the right politically correct boxes falls horrifically short, according to her:

“Even so, we still struggle to close the achievement gap, retain teachers of color, and dismantle the systemic white supremacy in our institution.”

And finally, she found it necessary to haughtily teach the First Lady a lesson as to, not only where she can stick – er, where her books ought to have been sent, but also whose fault it is that we have run down schools in the first place:

“Why not go out of your way to gift books to underfunded and underprivileged communities that continue to be marginalized and maligned by policies put in place by Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos?”

Of course, the Secretary of Education who was installed this year is to blame – not federal, state, and local education policies which have been contributing to these problems for decades.

She even added at the end of her public castigation of free books a list of books Mrs. Trump ought to have given instead, which was mostly a Who’s Who of various “oppressed” groups.

The Cambridge responded, noting that “the employee was not authorized to accept or reject donated books on behalf of the school or school district.”

“We have counseled the employee on all relevant policies, including the policy against public resources being used for political purposes,” the district said.

I’m fairly certain the left had its “jump the shark” moment a while ago; only history will determine precisely when that was. But regardless of how much those on the left – or right – hate Donald Trump, can we please recognize that this does nothing but further weaken us as a nation? How do we hope to survive if we despise one another?

As Abraham Lincoln, who was quoting Jesus, said, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

There was a time when we could disagree with one another with civility. Is it possible for us to get back there again?

I think it is. But we have to stop seeing one another as “the enemy.” Enemies need to be destroyed. Does your neighbor who holds a different political position need to be destroyed?

If You Oppose Melania Trump Praying Lord’s Prayer, You’re Evil

The fleas quickly jumped out of the stained and ragged leftist carpet when First Lady Melania Trump recited the Lord’s Prayer to open her husband’s first 2020 campaign rally in Florida.

Hiding behind now-deleted tweets, the God-hating cowards popped out only to retreat in holy fear and humiliation. The power of God was displayed by this deliverance from evil.

FLOTUS recited the model prayer as told by Jesus Christ to his disciples in Matthew 6:9-13.

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

This prayer is recited (and by many, memorized) by well over a billion Christians of all denominations. It’s a fair bet that if a Christian (or anyone) knows any Bible at all, it’s these verses–they are ubiquitous.

When The Blaze wrote up their reaction, they had several more tweets than you can now find undeleted.

To wit, these cowards, one of whom called the Mrs. Trump a “whore” and the other somehow believing a citizen’s First Amendment right to pray in public (including the president’s right) is illegal by the nowhere-to-be-found-in-the-Constitution “separation of church and state.”

Deleted. Idiotic and God-hating. Here’s another in the same vein.

oh my gods, Melania. Not every American is represented by the frakking Lord’s prayer, plus…Separation of church and state?

— ResistTrump (@liberalandold) February 18, 2017

Two things emerge here. One is that many liberals are cowards who would rather snipe from behind anonymous tweets then delete them when they’re “discovered.” At least the so-called “alt-right” idiots don’t delete their anonymous moronic tweets (in fact, they’re rather proud of them).

The other is that cynical politics makes people evil. Somehow, because the first lady has an Eastern European accent, her husband is a model sinner, and she herself has done things of which Sister Mary would not approve, those who hate the Trumps think Melania is unqualified to pray.

Let me put it this way: if you oppose the recitation of the Lord’s Prayer, you’re evil.

One Hollywood denizen who wasn’t ashamed to leave their post intact tweeted this:

Clever. But the prayer did in fact work. All those liberals who deleted their tweets in shame, or others who for days will have to live with the embarrassment of publicly trashing a few billion Christians most cherished prayer, have been exposed as evil. Any by that, the rest of us–non-Christians included–have been delivered from them.

To that I say “Amen.”

Brit Hume Makes His True Feelings for the Washington Post Known

The Washington Post is at it again. This time, their PowerPost blog has taken to criticizing the Trump administration for highlighting First Lady Melania Trump’s accomplishments on the White House website.

Her biography starts with traditional details, such as her date of birth in her native country of Slovenia and information about her background as a model. That’s when the brief backgrounder takes a promotional turn. The website includes a lengthy list of brands that hired her as a model and several of the magazines in which she appeared, including the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

It is not uncommon for the White House to note the accomplishments of the first lady in her official biography, but Trump’s decision to include a detailed list of her media appearances and branded retail goods is unusual.

Granted, Melania Trump’s resume is a bit different compared to that of, well, pretty much any other first lady, but the Post seems bent on making every molehill of detail from her life into a mountain.

The site also touches on the previously controversial subject of Melania Trump’s university background.

“She would pursue a degree at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, but pause her studies to advance her modeling career in Milan and Paris before moving to New York in 1996,” the site reads.

Brit Hume has weighed in on his opinion of the story:

Don’t forget that Hume has, like so many of the rest of us, been critical of Donald Trump in the past, but in the wake of the inauguration, he has been willing to call out the “Trump Derangement Syndrome” on the left. So you know he had to be angry to self-censor his tweet.

At least he’s not holding back on what he thinks.

Trump’s New York Presidency: Will They Even Live In Washington?

The New York Post is reporting that Melania Trump and 10-year-old Barron will stay in New York City after President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20. In Trump-land, where rumors and leaks are circulated, collected and cashed in like casino chips, we have no clue whether this is really true.

It has the ring of deniability, using an unnamed source:

“Melania is extremely close to Barron, and they have become closer during the campaign,” said a source close to Trump’s transition team. “The campaign has been difficult for Barron, and she is really hoping to keep disruption to a minimum.”

In fact, Trump has already denied it–sort of–according to NBC 4 New York:

Trump has said that he and his wife Melania will move into the White House after inauguration day, but The New York Times reported last week that the president-elect has considered spending weekends back at Trump Tower, the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, or the Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

Trump may be the first president since George Washington to serve his term in New York City, commuting between his White House-based Oval Office and Trump Tower.

New Yorkers already got a taste of this last week, and it didn’t make them happy. When Trump left his penthouse Friday afternoon to meet with various people (including Mitt Romney) at his golf resort in Bedminster, NJ, he created a massive traffic jam, closing the Lincoln Tunnel for weekend-bound commuters.

Now imagine this as a weekly thing. Monday morning, the president leaves Manhattan for New York. Friday afternoon, he heads back to the Big Apple from Washington, D.C.

President Reagan had a “western White House,” and Bush had his Texas ranch. But at least those presidents could go to private, out of the way places where their presence and massive security requirements were handled without inconveniencing 20 million people. No such luck for New Yorkers.

It’s ironic how Hillary Clinton wanted the White House so badly she probably already had the china patterns and flower arrangements picked out, and didn’t get it, and Trump gets the White House and his best response is “meh,” it’s nice and all, but I prefer Central Park.

Kevin Williamson at National Review wrote a nice take from a New York perspective on how Trump’s win has somehow exposed Washington D.C. for what it is, geologically speaking: a swamp. His promise to #draintheswamp apparently never included a commitment to actually live there, further hammering his not-so-subtle point and enraging the self-important beltway crowd.

If Donald Trump’s choice of domicile is an insult to Washington, that isn’t an accident: Donald Trump’s election as president of these United States was an insult to Washington, intended as such by the disaffected Republicans and gobsmacked rage-monkeys who lined up behind him. And that’s all to the good: God knows Washington deserves the insult.

Maybe Trump can kill two birds with one stone. He could rent out the most exclusive weekend bed and breakfast in the world for weekends (like the Clintons did), while keeping his own presence there to a minimum: 9 to 5, Monday through Friday. After all, how many billionaires actually choose to live in D.C.? (The answer is zero, according to Forbes’ 2015 list. There are 15 in the “DMV area” but they all live in Maryland and Virginia.)

It’s likely Trump will never really unpack at the White House. It will be the most sterile presidency of all time since President Truman gutted the place down to the beams and rafters.

Both the new president and the White House will benefit from that arrangement. I can imagine the White House curators reacted with horror at the prospect of a Louis XVI rococo decor, and they’re plainly relieved that Trump has stated he won’t change much.

Trump has previously insisted that if he made it to the White House, he wouldn’t make too many alterations to the West Wing. In an interview last year in People magazine, he said he would “maybe touch it up a little bit.”

“But the White House is a special place, you don’t want to do much touching,” Trump said.

To Trump, the place is just an office, a symbol of power, and the greatest media set the celebrity leader of the free world could ever dream of. Why would he change anything but a few sculptures and paintings on the wall?

From what we’re seeing in the press, it’s likely he will just be a frequent overnight visitor there anyway.

Trump’s Election Drives Leftists Beyond Brink of Civility and Decency

The election of the Donald Trump seems to have pushed many in the liberal left over the brink of sanity and common decency. First came the protests and violence. Ironically, this was the same sort of violence that some had expected of Trump supporters in the then-likely event that Hillary Clinton won the election. Even as the protests continue, the leftist response among many non-rioting leftists ranges from the irrational to loathsome.

In one bizarre case, Rachel Zarrell of MTV News tweeted a threat to mail Mike Pence a “monthly bag of period blood” if he “tries to regulate my uterus.” The tweet, posted on Daily Wire, was an apparent reference to Pence’s pro-life views, although another Twitter user answered Zarrell and pointed out her confusion. “Clearly you’re ignorant of biology,” DC MCallister wrote. “A uterus and a fetus are two different entities. Saving the latter isn’t ‘regulating’ the former.”

Zarrell may also be confused about Mike Pence’s role in the federal government. Laws are passed by Congress and Mike Pence, as the incoming vice president, will have a primarily ceremonial role in Congress. The vice president has very little control over anything. John Nance Garner, vice president to Franklin Roosevelt, famously observed that “the vice presidency is not worth a bucket of warm spit.”

Speaking of containers of bodily fluids, Zarrell might also want check into the Post Office regulations on shipping organic matter. Blood can be considered a biohazard and subject to hazardous materials regulations.

If Zarrell’s tweet was bizarre and disgusting, another anti-Trump protester’s message was, well, deplorable. The message on a protest sign spotted at a Washington, DC rally read, “Rape Melania.” This sign was all the more ironic and reprehensible in light of the campaign issue of Donald Trump and Bill Clinton’s treatment of women.

As the husband of a victim of sexual assault, let me just say that any call to rape or sexually assault anyone has no place in civilized discourse. Even in jest, the suggestion that someone would think that raping a candidate’s wife is an appropriate response to the democratic will of the people is morally bankrupt and indefensible.

Thankfully, as Heat Street pointed out, an associated #RapeMelania hashtag on Twitter was primarily used to condemn the sign.

If rape weren’t bad enough, some online leftists have openly called for and speculated about the assassination of Trump. The New York Post reported that the CEO of a California cybersecurity firm was forced to resign after tweeting a “flawed joke” about killing Trump with a sniper rifle. WCSH News reported that an Ohio man had actually been arrested for tweeting his intention to kill Donald Trump.

Opponents of Donald Trump have the freedom to criticize and protest his election, but should remember that words have meaning. Some words go beyond the bounds of civility and decency and cross the line to criminal behavior.

Voice your opposition, but watch what you say. The Secret Service will.

Protestors Call For Raping The First Lady

Outside Trump Tower this weekend, a protestor held up a sign encouraging people to rape the future First Lady of the United States. Protestors claim they are protesting Donald Trump’s behavior and words, not his election. But if that is the case, chants of “he’s not my President,” “end the Electoral College,” “Dump Trump,” “Less Votes ≠ President,” and this attack on Mrs. Trump have no place.

Had such a sign appeared when Barack Obama was elected, or had it appeared at any tea party rally, the entirety of the conservative movement would have been indicted by the American media complex. The acts of some Trump supporters, in fact, got the entirety of his supporters labeled “deplorables” by Hillary Clinton.

Already, less than a week removed from the election, we see the media has learned nothing. They have blanketly condemned Trump supporters based on the acts of some, but they have refused to cover the violence advocated by anti-Trump protestors after the election.

Leftwing activists are now claiming these people do not speak for them. But in the past they have labeled all tea party activists as racists and bigots. During the 2009 congressional recess, the media covered supposed tea party harassment of members of congress and failed to note the only arrests at the time were union activists disrupting the tea party groups.

Now they will do their best to ignore the left at its worst and, should anyone point it out, lecture them on painting with a broad brush. It is that very broad brush that has gotten us to this point.

It is completely unacceptable that anyone would hold up a protest sign advocating rape of anyone, let alone the First Lady or future First Lady of the United States. That the protestors with that person did nothing to stop the person or denounce that person is a pretty damning indictment on the group as a whole.

These people are not protesting Trump’s behavior or statements. They are whining because they lost an election they did not expect to lose. These are no protests against an injustice, but whining against the constitutional processes of the United States.

I opposed Donald Trump and did not vote for him. But he deserves now our prayers and a chance to succeed. The very Democrats who denounced Rush Limbaugh for wanting Barack Obama to fail, should be the first in line to hope Donald Trump succeeds. Otherwise, they’re playing at “he started it” children’s games and should be treated as such — seen and not heard.
