BREAKING: Tom Price Fired By Trump

Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price has reportedly been fired by President Donald Trump. Price has been under fire for his use of private aircraft at taxpayer expense.

Price ran up a charter flight tab of $400,000 for domestic travel. He had promised to pay the charter costs back when Politico reported on Thursday that Price had also used military aircraft on international trips with White House approval. The cost of the military flights was estimated at $500,000. President Trump had indicated that he would decide whether to fire Price and announce his decision by Friday night.

Now CBS News is reporting that Trump has reached a decision to fire the embattled HHS secretary, citing a statement by White House spokesman, Sarah Huckabee Sanders. According to the statement, Don Wright, currently the deputy assistant HHS secretary, will be designated as acting secretary in the interim.

Tom Price Will Pay for His Past Private Air Travel

Health and Human Services Secretary – and former Georgia 6th district representative – Tom Price has found himself at the center of controversy over his use of chartered flights. On Thursday he attempted to quell the issue by announcing that he will write a check for nearly $52,000 to pay for the flights he has taken.

In a statement, Price said, “I regret the concerns this has raised regarding the use of taxpayer dollars,” and he noted that “[t]he taxpayers won’t pay a dime for my seat on those planes.” The secretary also said that he will cease relying on private air travel.

According to Politico, many of the chartered flights Price had taken had much cheaper commercial alternatives. At the same time, it’s not too much of  a stretch to imagine that, given Price’s well documented opposition to Obamacare both during and after his time in Congress, along with the current climate of incivility, Price on a commercial flight could prove to be disruptive to other travelers.

The Politico investigation that centered on Price has led to scrutiny of other member of Cabinet as well. Needless to say, President Trump is none too happy with the bad press the Price investigation has brought to the administration, and there are even calls to fire the secretary.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday wouldn’t commit to keeping Price in his administration, saying only “we’ll see” when asked whether Price would be fired. Trump has privately fumed over Price’s use of expensive charter jets, and some aides have called for firing Price. Hours before Price’s announcement, the White House on Thursday said it had ordered HHS to halt all private flights.

“As the president said yesterday, he’s not thrilled — certainly not happy with the actions,” White House press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said.

Price has said that he is working to “regain the trust” of both the American people and the Trump administration. The real question is: will Price’s act of contrition be enough to call off the Democrats who go after the GOP at every opportunity? Probably not. Will Politico find more reasons to put members of the administration in a negative light? Probably so.

As long as a Republican is in office, nitpicking like this will never go away.

Liberals Are Upset Tom Price Has Made It Challenging to Try to Kill Him

I am old enough to remember James Hodgkinson, driven by insanity and leftwing rhetoric (but I repeat myself) on Obamacare, attempting a mass assassination of Republican members of Congress.

I am old enough to remember liberals attacking Trump supporters with Make America Great Again hats on right after the election.

I am old enough to remember Antifa protestors attacking police officers just a few weeks ago.

And I am old enough to remember the left declaring that anyone who helps Trump is a white supremacist who can be attacked on moral grounds.

So it is really damn rich to watch reporters and liberal activists complaining about the Secretary of Health and Human Services taking private flights while on the job. The left has not only become increasingly violent, but they have started grounding their violence in the language of moralism.

Tom Price is in charge of the cabinet position that oversees Obamacare. Democrat members of Congress say Tom Price and his Republican colleagues would kill you and your children.

And you want him walking through a public airport? His presence not only puts his own safety at risk, but ensures inconvenience and possible safety issues for others.

The left has created a violent situation presently in the country and now complains when those they would cheer if shot take steps to avoid being shot.

Every single Cabinet secretary should be flying private given Antifa, the so called Resistance, and rise of violent leftwing nutters. Honestly, I assumed they already did and was surprised to learn most didn’t.

But Tom Price in particular, given people like James Hodgkinson and Jimmy Kimmel, should particularly stay out airports. My goodness, I tweeted out that I had no problem with this and was bombarded by angry leftists saying they had a right to let their voices be heard and confront Tom Price. So yes, they are admitting they want to confront him at the airport, which would just inconvenience everyone else. But at least they’d feel good about themselves.

By the way, it is a stupid and ignorant belief to think Tom Price is arranging his own travel, but more than one prominent leftist has largely based their objection on that claim.

In the Midst of Turmoil, Weekly Bible Study Has Become a Thing in the White House (GOOD)

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Hebrews 10:24-25 NLT – “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

A recent report from CBN News reveals that some members of the Trump White House have undertaken the noble effort of weekly Bible study meetings.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Ralph Drollinger, a former NBA player and founder of Capitol Ministries has worked to bring together lawmakers in Washington in this study of God’s Word, believing that building up warriors for Christ in the White House will be carried out in the principles and policies these men and women promote for the nation.

And while this will surely set off the gnashing of teeth and rending of garments by the left, who will shriek about the separation of church and state, we should all be used to that, by now. What these leaders do in their free time should be of no concern to the humanist elements of the left, and to everyone else, it should be a comfort.

Drollinger says that there are currently about a dozen members of the Trump Cabinet participating in weekly Bible study, and he is encouraged.

“It’s the best Bible study that I’ve ever taught in my life. They are so teachable; they’re so noble; they’re so learned,” Drollinger said.

It’s groundbreaking since he doesn’t think a formal Bible study among executive Cabinet members has been done in at least 100 years.

Of those regulars at the Bible study, there are Energy Secretary Rick Perry, Health Secretary Tom Price, Agriculture Secretary Sunny Perdue, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, and CIA Director Mike Pompeo.

America’s top cop, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, also attends the study.

“He’ll (Jeff Sessions) go out the same day I teach him something and I’ll see him do it on camera and I just think, ‘Wow, these guys are faithful, available and teachable and they’re at Bible study every week they’re in town,'” Drollinger said.

Knowing Attorney General Sessions is taking part in these study groups is especially comforting, if not for those who understand how important it is for our leaders to have a grasp on some moral grounding, but for his own mental/emotional well-being.

Sessions has been targeted by President Trump for a consistent campaign of demeaning and demoralizing social media taunts, surprisingly, because of a very principled stand Sessions took early on (in recusing himself from the Russia probe).

I’d say he can only benefit from the fellowship of likeminded believers and the consistent pursuit of godly study.

That is the value of fellowship, when the world comes against you.

Romans 1:11-12 NASB “For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be [a]established; 12 that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.”

And Trump, himself?

So far, he has not made time to attend any of the Bible studies, although he is invited each week and receives copies of Drollinger’s teachings from each meeting.

Many have already determined that Trump’s alleged faith was “campaign trail faith,” which is to say, lip service to draw in the evangelical vote. This is not a new thing among politicians, but rarely have those who identify as “Christian” been so eager to support a man so openly profane as Trump, with the hope that he can be changed, afterwards.

Indeed, Drollinger has likened Trump to Samson – a man consecrated before his birth to God, destined to save the Israelites from the Philistines, in the Book of Judges.

I have some issues with that characterization, not the least of which is this urge to compare a man who has openly rejected God in one breath, while claiming to be a Christian in the next to a Biblical figure, in an attempt to justify support.

If our purpose is a higher calling of pursuing and promoting a godly agenda, we don’t wishcast about who we hope our leaders might be, but we lean on what Scripture teaches about leadership.

And we pray for them.

Vice President Pence, on the other hand, has planned to join the meetings, when it becomes feasible for him to do so.

In Pence, Drollinger sees many similarities to biblical figures like Joseph, Mordecai and Daniel – all men who rose to the number two position in governments at different times in history.

“Mike Pence has respect for the office. He dresses right – like it says Joseph cleaned himself up before he went to stand before the Pharaoh,” Drollinger told CBN News.

“Mike Pence has uncompromising biblical tenacity and he has a loving tone about him that’s not just a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal,” he continued. “And then fourthly, he brings real value to the head of the nation.”

Many are leaning on Pence to be the faith-filled leader in the dark corridors of Washington’s political elite. Time will tell.

For now, it should be a comfort to know that some of our leadership are taking the time to meet, study the Word, and presumably, to pray.

Proverbs 11:14 AMP “Where there is no [wise, intelligent] guidance, the people fall [and go off course like a ship without a helm], But in the abundance of [wise and godly] counselors there is victory.”

Ten Things to Keep In Mind in GA06: Democrats Just Spent $30 Million for Another Moral Victory

In 2016, Rodney Stooksbury got 38.3% of the vote in Georgia’s sixth congressional district after spending only around $1000.00. Less than a year later, Democrats spent $30million to get only ten percent more of the vote and still lose.

There are some real issues here that the cheering and moralizing will overlook. Democrats will say it should not have been so close, but Republicans can counter than outspending the GOP and still losing is a big deal. It is. The Democrats can note that the GOP was winning this district by twenty points regularly and now are barely winning. That is true too.

But there are some fundamental problems for Democrats that they are going to overlook as they declare moral victory.

First, the national netroots rallied to Jon Ossoff, who was completely unknown to the sixth congressional district. There was a state senator from within the district who had a built in constituency that crossed party lines. But that guy got rejected for this unknown who lived out of the district.

Second, Ossoff did live out of the district and that cost him a number of votes. Democrats want you to believe this race was about healthcare and a referendum on Trump. The reality is more voters talked about Ossoff being a carpetbagger than they talked about where either candidate stood on the issues.

Third, Democrats got cocky. In the last two weeks of the race they started knocking on Republican doors to try to turn out the vote. Yes, they needed to persuade persuadable Republicans to vote Ossoff, but they did not just target those voters. They blanketed the district, knocking on the doors of Trump voters. They saturated the district with robocalls. They overbought television advertisements. They overexposed their candidate.

Fourth, Ossoff never defined himself. He went negative on Handel, who had won this district in three elections and who was known by 90% of the district. He could not define a woman who everyone already knew and mostly liked. But no one knew Ossoff and he got defined as a Pelosi loving carpetbagger.

That leads me to the fifth point, Nancy Pelosi is as much an anchor on the Democrats as Trump is on the GOP, if not more so. If Democrats want to win GOP seats, Pelosi needs to stay in the shadows.

Sixth, Ossoff was way overexposed. People got tired of his ads. They were on constantly. They never changed. People tuned them out over time. He never shook up the advertisements or rolled out new attacks or positive messages. Democrats saying this was about healthcare want to focus on his literally last two days where he talked about healthcare. He otherwise did not go deep on policy on the campaign trail.

Seventh, this was a Republican district that was won by a well known and liked Republican who was able to offset poor fundraising with high name ID and likability. Trump voters turned out for her and got her across the finish line.

Eighth, and this is the most important point, Ossoff ran as a moderate Republican. He never attacked the President and opposed universal healthcare. But the national noise about this campaign filtered in. Local voters and local news coverage knew the national progressive activists viewed an Ossoff win as another step towards the impeachment of President Trump. By being so vocal about the implications of this race, the Democrats fired up the GOP voters to defend Trump. It is a poor strategy moving forward for them. This is a district they need and they lost it.

Ninth, despite the rhetoric, you should know that this was one of the most civil races I have witnessed. Yes, there were crazies and bad things happened to both sides, but largely the candidates and campaigns were very civil to each other and the attacks were relatively mild.

Tenth, expect Karen Handel to be her own person in Congress. She will stand up to both sides and she will not be a yes woman for anyone. Jon Ossoff too will come out of this with an enhanced reputation among Democrats. He is going to be a force to contend with in the future. His political career is just starting.

HUGE: HHS Moves Sharply in Favor of Life

President Trump’s appointment of Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price signified a dramatic shift to the right within the HHS. Price’s record in the House of Representatives was one of consistent support for pro-life causes, and he was a leader in opposition to Obamacare.

But the good news for pro-lifers doesn’t end there.

The President’s latest HHS appointment is Charmaine Yoest, former CEO of Americans United for Life and former VP of Family Research Council.

From The Daily Signal:

“We are going to see a radical transformation occur within HHS,” Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, told The Daily Signal in an interview. “I fully expect us [as a society] to talk about … the consequences of abortion on women.”

Yoest will serve as assistant secretary of public affairs, and will be involved in a number of communications-related activities. She will answer directly to Sec. Price.

March for Life Education and Defense Fund president Jeanne Mancini expressed enthusiasm about the appointment, also in an interview with The Daily Signal.

“Charmaine will help [HHS] with their messaging and she is very gifted at communication both digitally and in person.”

Yeost has long been recognized for her strong pro-life positions, a fact not lost on Planned Parenthood – which was understandably not very happy about her appointment.

“It is unacceptable that someone with a history of promoting myths and false information about women’s health is appointed to a government position whose main responsibility is to provide the public with accurate and factual information,” Dawn Laguens, executive vice president of Planned Parenthood, said in a statement provided to The Daily Signal.

And for anyone involved in the pro-life movement, that statement alone is reason to rejoice.

GOP Ponders Killing Obamacare Contraceptive Mandate

As Republicans deal with the difficulties of rolling back the Affordable Care Act, one unpopular part of Obamacare that could be killed before the rest of the law is repealed is the contraceptive mandate. The mandate required health insurance plans to cover contraceptive and abortion-inducing drugs at no out-of-pocket cost.

Unlike many aspects of Obamacare, the contraceptive mandate is not written into the text of the Affordable Care Act. The contraceptive mandate was created by Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius in 2011 as part of administrative rulemaking associated with the ACA. Many religious organizations were not exempted from the mandate even though they had ethical objections to providing contraceptives and abortifacients.

Ultimately, challenges to the mandate went all the way to the Supreme Court. In the Hobby Lobby decision, the Court ruled that the HHS mandate violated the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and required an accommodation for the groups and companies who found the mandate immoral. In a compromise, the final HHS rule allowed companies to opt out of providing contraceptives and abortifacients in their insurance plans, but still required insurance companies to cover the drugs without a copay for employees.

Now, under the Trump Administration, there are signs that the current HHS policy may be about to change. The new secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services is Tom Price, a former congressman who opposed the mandate as a legislator. In a 2012 interview with Think Progress, Price said, “The fact of the matter is that this is a trampling on religious freedom and religious liberty in this country. The president does not have the power to say that your First Amendment rights go away.”

During his confirmation hearings, Price indicated that he is not opposed to contraception in general, even if he opposes the mandate. Price said, “I think contraception is absolutely imperative for many, many women and the system that we ought to have in place is one that allows women to be able to purchase the kind of contraception they desire.”

Because the contraceptive mandate was never enacted by Congress, it could be reversed by issuing a new HHS rule or an Executive Order. Administrative rules issued by agencies like HHS have the force of law, but are not subject to congressional votes.

“They could issue new guidance that says plans have more leeway to cover what they need to cover,” Laurie Sobel, associate director for women’s health policy at the Kaiser Family Foundation, told The Hill.

Alternatively, Republicans could include the mandate in a repeal of the Affordable Care Act to be voted on by Congress. Republicans reportedly plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act with a budget reconciliation that requires a simple majority vote. Elements of the repeal that are not included in the budget reconciliation would be subject to Democrat filibusters.

The Hill also noted that Republicans are considering making access to contraceptives easier by allowing them to be sold without a prescription. “We probably wouldn’t require that [mandate], but in doing that, we need to make them behind or across the counter,” said Rep. Phil Roe (R-Tenn.), a former OB/GYN. “In other words, you come in [to a pharmacy], you want birth control, you get it, you go.”

It is important to note that, Obamacare does not provide for free contraception. There is no copayment or out-of-pocket cost, but there is still a price to be paid. The cost of the drugs is included in the premium for the health insurance which must still be paid by the employee or the business. In the case of religious companies that opt out, the cost must be borne either by the insurance company or spread among the other policy holders.

A solution to the problem of paying for contraception has been introduced by Rep. Dave Brat (R-Va.) in the form of a bill that would give consumers more control over medical spending through health savings accounts (HSAs). “Instead of having to get coverage approved from the government, an employer, or an insurance company, people will be able to use their [health savings account] funds directly for the products and services that they value,” Brat told the Daily Signal.

The Republican plans would give consumers and businesses more freedom of choice. People would have the freedom to buy health insurance policies that suit their own needs with less interference from the government. Women who want to use contraceptives would have easier access to low-cost contraceptives with pre-tax dollars from their HSA. Insurance companies would still be free to cover contraceptives without a copay if they want.

The oppressive HHS mandate can be rolled back with the stroke of a pen. The only question is what Republicans are waiting for.

Scam PAC Invades Georgia’s Sixth Congressional District

With Tom Price headed to the Department of Health and Human Services, the Governor of Georgia has called a special election for his old congressional seat. The election is in mid-April, there are 18 Republicans running along with a handful of Democrats, and because of high name identification former Secretary of State Karen Handel is in the lead.

As a result, the scam PACs are already up and running. The first one out of the gate is giving the left free publicity for their candidate in the race by this scam PAC’s amazing defense of Karen Handel.

The scam PAC, which is a scam because it promises to help elect Karen Handel but is neither affiliated with her campaign nor run by anyone who actually lives near her or supports her, claims that she would end Muslim immigration if elected. It also points out that as Secretary of State, Karen Handel took voter fraud very seriously and cleaned up the voting rolls in Georgia.

The PAC is called Save The American Way PAC, which is run out of Denver, Colorado and which spent most of its money paying Amagi Strategies in New York. The Conservative Review noted in 2014 that Amagi Strategies was tied to another PAC getting paid lots of money with very little actually going to support the candidate.

Charlie Harper writes over at that this scam PAC’s support for Handel just allows leftwing sites like Huffington Post to tout their leftwing darling in the race, Jon Ossoff. The left in the United States has been pouring money into his campaign for the race. While the seat is highly Republican, Trump only won it by about 1%. With a crowded GOP field and united Democrats, Ossoff could do better than expected.

So HuffPo also is taking the opportunity to use the only candidate in GA-6 with nationwide name ID to editorialize via “news” their positions and call to action to progressives in Georgia 6. Nevermind that they had to attribute quotes from an unrelated to the campaign independent entrepreneur to get the clicks to get their message out.

If anyone has gotten the fundraising letter in support of Karen Handel from Save The American Way PAC, the Handel campaign confirms that they do not know the source, do not appreciate anyone fundraising off her name, and would kindly ask that you not waste your money being scammed by that PAC.
