Ted Cruz Must Now Be The Uniter

The Cruz campaign can survey the landscape of tonight’s races and think that all voters opposed to Trump will come to their side. They would be wrong.

People have been so committed to their candidate that there are wounds that must heal for there to be movement to Cruz.

It is Ted Cruz’s time to unite the party and heal those wounds. Ted Cruz must be a bridge builder and show the GOP that he can be the outsider who can stop Trump and stop Hillary Clinton.

Ted Cruz has, frankly, give some less than stellar speeches on election night. He needs to hit one out of the park now. He needs to reach across to Rubio and Kasich supporters too and make the case that he is the guy.

And yes, Cruz supporters will say this is unfair and that Cruz was maligned.

But I would tell them they have to suck it up now, be magnanimous, and stop casting about for blame.

The party either goes with Ted Cruz or goes with Donald Trump. Cruz is the one who must rise above the fray now and show he is worth supporting.
