US Vice President Mike Pence (L) and Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R) applaud as US President Donald J. Trump (C) arrives to deliver his first address to a joint session of Congress from the floor of the House of Representatives in Washington, DC, USA, 28 February 2017. Traditionally the first address to a joint session of Congress by a newly-elected president is not referred to as a State of the Union.

The Pottery Barn Rule Collides With the GOP

I know, given the Supreme Court, that the GOP will take the hit, but the pottery barn rule is now on their shoulders. You break it, you buy it, and with Washington not functioning the GOP is getting the blame.

I personally think Washington not functioning is a good thing, but Washington always finds a way to spend money and more people are starting to worry about the debt and deficit. The GOP has no forthcoming plan on tax reform, they have not repealed Obamacare, the proposal to repeal Obamacare was terrible, and people are starting to pay attention to the White House infighting.

Something has to give and right now it looks like what is giving is the GOP’s favorability rating.
