Hillary Clinton and her sidekick Tim Kaine were asked some pointed questions by 60 Minutes host Scott Pelley about the DNC emails that were leaked last week. In her best Sergeant Schultz impression, Grandma Nixon intoned “I know nothing. Nothing!”
You won’t see this on 60 Minutes though. It was cut from the show.
The Weekly Standard asked why the segment was not aired on the show.
And, finally, why did Clinton’s suspect answers to the biggest political story of the moment not make it into CBS’s TV broadcast? There was enough time to include in the aired version this softball question from Pelley: “What will be accomplished if you are elected the first woman president of the United States?” But Clinton’s problematic response to a scandal rocking her own party gets relegated to the internet as a throwaway clip.
CBS countered that part of the segment aired on the CBS Evening News before 60 Minutes. Oh, that makes it better (ask which show gets higher ratings? 60 Minutes is the top rated show on Sunday night). Way to bury it, CBS!
