Hillary Clinton may have a much stronger motivation to win this election.
On the same day that President Obama released his endorsement of the presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, his press secretary Josh Earnest answered a press question about her using the term “criminal investigation.”
“That’s why the president, when discussing this issue in each stage, has reiterated his commitment to this principle that any criminal investigation should be conducted independent of any sort of political interference and that people should be treated the same way before the law regardless of their political influence, regardless of their political party, regardless of their political stature and regardless of what political figure has endorsed them.” (emphasis mine)
Are you kidding me? Back in January, when Earnest told reporters that Clinton is not a target of the investigation, Fox News’ Catherine Herridge reported:
That statement by Josh Earnest has got the back up of our contacts at the FBI and Justice Department for two reasons… They are SUPER PISSED OFF to use a technical term. Number one, Josh Earnest has absolutely no clearance or visibility in the FBI investigation. Number two, they say it really seems part of a troubling pattern from the White House because the president earlier said he did not see any national security implications to the Clinton emails and then we found out he had never been briefed.
It’s clear that the Obama administration has done everything possible to hold off the Justice Department from finishing its grim task. They’ve interfered at every point to keep what should have been a quick indictment from being handed down by a federal grand jury. Now that Hillary is going to be the nominee, the White House will slow roll this issue all the way to November.
If Hillary wins (which at this point is no sure bet, since she’s trying so hard to lose–here and here) maybe we can expect a quick pardon as Obama’s final thumb in America’s eye as he moves from the Oval Office to digs down the hall in the West Wing to become shadow president.
I will not vote for Trump, but if he wins, all bets are off for Hillary’s nice pardon. I hear the summers are nice in Alderson, West Virginia–the Federal Prison Camp there nicknamed “Camp Cupcake” once hosted Martha Stewart. Hillary will love it there.
